Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a new Trustee; specifically a new Treasurer, who will Chair the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC).
As Chair of the FARC, the Treasurer will oversee and advise the Board of Trustees on financial planning, budgeting and reporting, ensure that adequate risk management processes are in place, ensure an effective internal control environment is in place, ensure reserves and other accounting policies are fit for purpose, and communicate with the external auditor and ensure that the Financial Statements are drawn up in compliance with the charity SORP.
This role will suit someone with senior financial management experience who is a qualified accountant or has equivalent experience. Previous experience as a Treasurer or trustee, or experience working in the charity sector, would definitely help in fulfilling this role.
The time commitment required for this trusteeship is approximately 2 days per month. There are 4 FARC meetings and 4 Board meetings per year. These are mostly attended remotely via Zoom. There is also an annual away day which we aim to do in person. As with all our Trusteeships, the Treasurer is an unpaid role; however direct expenses incurred whilst fulfilling the role may be reimbursed by prior agreement.
