Training manager Languages in contract d’alternance H/F At Doctors Without Borders


Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened : mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in about thirty countries.

To strengthen our Learning & Development team within the HR department, we are looking for a Training manager Languages in contract d’alternance.

Mission :

You are preparing a Master 1 or 2 and you want to engage with’an association of international dimension, with meaningful activities.

Language courses are among the priority L&D projects for this year. MSF works all over the world and the work in the S’ missions is carried out mainly in English or French.

In order to accompany the professional paths of its national and international staff of’on the one hand, and to facilitate the response to operational and institutional issues on the other hand,’, we decided to strengthen the project « Language courses ».

As part of your mission, you will participate in the management of language courses for different populations and you will pilot the operational implementation of it. You will assist the L&D Head Office Coordinator in charge of this project in the’ needs analysis and management of devices and service providers, in a context of transformation and development of the Learning & Development strategy at MSF.

Your main activities :

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Head Office L&D Coordinator, you will be in charge of :

Deploy the language courses and implement the individualized monitoring of the courses :

  • Analysis and qualification of the training needs formulated (by pool managers, HR Cells, employees, managers) ;
  • Construction of courses adapted to the demand (taking into account pedagogical, temporal and logistical realities) ;
  • Participation in the management of training orders (selection of organizations, processing of requests managers, ordering and follow-up of external training) ;
  • Logistical organization of training sessions : registration and convocation of learners, link with managers, reservation of rooms, necessary materials ;
  • Administrative and budgetary management : request for agreements from service providers, constitution of administrative files, processing of invoices and budgetary follow-up ;
  • Individualized follow-up of learners : answering their questions, relaunching them, encouraging them in their journey ;
  • ’activity reporting : monthly monitoring of training courses (programmed sessions, carried out, evaluations, etc.), participation in follow-up meetings.

Participate in the’ development of the CDL project strategy :

  • Flattening of the different processes in a concern of’adaptation and’continuous improvement ;
  • Elaboration of the’inscription path in order to put the employee/learner at the center of his journey ;
  • Help to define the target/priority population for this device ;
  • Reflection on the different levers that can activate language courses (mobility, gender balance, female empowerment, etc.).

Managing partnerships with training organizations :

  • Drafting of’a specification for training and launch of’appel d’offers for training ;
  • Selection of’a training provider and negotiation of the’purchase of services with the L&D coordinator head office ;
  • Role of prospecting and’evaluation of the’external training offer ;
  • Pedagogical monitoring: test and proposals for new language learning formulas’ ;
  • Expansion of the network of local training organizations in our countries of’intervention.

Profile sought :

Training :

You hold a bac +3/+4 level diploma and would like to prepare for a Bac +4/+5 level training. You have a special taste for skills development,’ language learning and humanitarian work.

Skills :

  • You are organized and methodical and know how to take initiatives. Your rigor, your responsiveness and your listening ability will be your assets to succeed in this mission.
  • You have a good command of office tools, in particular Excel ( dynamic cross tables, formulas ) and the reporting and analysis tables are your allies.
  • You have developed analytical and synthetic qualities, as well as a good relationship during your previous internships or apprenticeships.

Languages : You speak and write French and English fluently – Level B2 minimum.

Status: 12-month alternation contract ( apprenticeship or professionalization according to profile ).

Post based in Paris in the 19th ( Metro Jaurès ).

Conditions :

Remuneration from 53% to 100% of the minimum wage according to age and level of education.

Complementary health care 100% supported by MSF. Titles restaurants d’a face value of 11€ (60% support by Doctors Without Borders). Support for 50% of the’public transport subscription.

Date of taking up post : March 2024.
