GOALS
In collaboration with the strategic planning and control functions and IPD Manager, the MEAL Expert will have to set up an effective qualitative/quantitative monitoring system for the national, European and international projects and programs of SOS Children’s Villages, supporting the programmatic areas in the roll-out of the system and in the use of ad hoc tools and contributing to the strengthening of the data culture in the organization
ACTIVITY’
Specifically, it will take care of the following activities:
- Develop a monitoring system for the national and international programs of SOS Children’s Villages Italy, through the creation of new tools and/or the adaptation of existing tools.
- Collaborate with the National Programs & Advocacy (APA) and Emergencies and International Programs (EPI) areas of SOS Children’s Villages with the aim of creating minimum quality standards in the monitoring and evaluation of the projects respectively managed (through interviews, focus groups, desk review, coaching, etc.)
- Skill inventory of MEAL skills within the organization
- Development and delivery of a training package, in collaboration with the relevant HR function.
- Develop tools for a correct MEAL knowledge management system within and between areas of the organization, in collaboration with the relevant HR function
- Technical advisory for the implementation of two EPI area projects
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 7 years of experience in similar roles
- C2 knowledge of English and Italian, knowledge of French is preferential
- Knowledge of the MEAL requirements of the major institutional donors (AICS, European Union, Cariplo Foundation, Ministry of the Interior, etc.)
- Demonstrable previous experience in the development and delivery of training in the MEAL and/or similar fields
