Overview of position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic & knowledgeable Odoo Developer who will be responsible for maintaining & developing high quality Odoo ERP business applications. You will play a crucial role in implementing & deploying Odoo ERP solutions & ensuring the delivery of high quality products.
The Junior Odoo Developer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Carrying out development activities for maintenance & development of applications in Odoo framework.
Work closely with the development team to develop, release & enhance features / solutions.
Bug fixing, performance optimisation & application support.
Ensure that you follow the prescribed coding & development best practices to give high quality output as per the requirement.
Adhere to the latest development methods like continuous deployment & integration.
Must possess a strong learning curve & should be willing to stay updated of the development tools, programming techniques, latest cloud services, modern programming & technical concepts & apply them to improve the software development process.
Project reporting:
This role reports to the Permanent Principal Lead Developer.
Key competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in software development; using Odoo & Python.
Experience in the Middle East, Africa & / or Asia is desired.
Fluency in English is required.
Proficiency in Python, Javascript, XML, HTML, CSS, JQuery & Postgres SQL.
Must have good knowledge of core Python & programming concepts, Python development frameworks.
Must have knowledge about popular open source IDE such a Eclipse or PyCharm.
Good understanding of object oriented design principles, web services, Restful APIs & design patterns.
Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
Software development life cycle in an agile environment.
Strong problem solving & analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify & resolve technical issues.
Ability to learn fast & execute accordingly.
Excellent time management, communication skills, attention to detail, strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Must have knowledge of Odoo version 11 & good to have on further versions.
Added advantage for one who has knowledge of Odoo UI JS framework.
Consistently create quality software that meets specific design & requirements on stated timelines.
Good to have experience in mobile API development.
Take Initiatives for suggesting & implementing the required changes in the software development process to manage overall quality.
Reuse the features available in Odoo to fulfill the scope objectives.
