L’ESPRIT ALIMA : ’alima’s reason for being is to save lives and care for the most vulnerable populations, without any identity, religious or political discrimination, through actions based on closeness, and, L’innovation et l’ alliance of’organisations and’individuals. We act with humanism, impartiality and respect for l’ethics universal medical. In order to access patients, we are committed to intervening in a neutral and independent manner.
CARE – INNOVATE – TOGETHER :Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 10 million patients, and today deploys its operations in 12 countries of’Africa. In 2022, we developed more than 60 humanitarian medical response projects to meet the needs of populations affected by conflict, epidemics and extreme poverty. All these projects are in support of national health authorities through nearly 511 health facilities (including 47 hospitals and 464 health centres). We work in partnership, including with local NGOs, as soon as possible to improve access and transfer of skills that ensures the sustainability of our actions to our patients. In addition, to improve the humanitarian response, we conduct operational and clinical research projects, including,in particular to combat malnutrition and viral hemorrhagic fevers.
THE ALIMA TEAM :More than 2,000 people currently work for ALIMA. The field teams, as close as possible to the patients, receive their support from the coordination teams generally based in the capital of the countries of intervention’. These receive the support of the 4 desk teams and the’ team of the emergency department and openings based at the operational headquarters of Dakar, Senegal. The teams of Paris and New York are actively working on fundraising and’ at the representation of’ALIMA. The rest of the ALIMA Galaxy includes individuals and partner teams working on behalf of’ other organizations such as BEFEN Medical NGOs, Health ALERT, SOS Doctors, KEOOGO, AMCP-SP, and others, DEMTOU-Humanitaire, the research organizations PAC-CI, Inserm, the Universities of Bordeaux or Copenhagen and many others.

LOCATION OF THE POST : The position is based in Port au prince /Haiti.

Level 3 : The incumbent is responsible for the’application of the recruitment process and may be required to conduct field visits. It may therefore be in contact with children and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, the verification of the criminal record or the presentation of a certificate of good life and morals will be necessary. In situations where the’ impossibility of providing a criminal record or a certificate of good life and morals is noted, a declaration on the’honneur will be requested.
FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINKS
You are the supervision of the External Activity Manager, you report on your daily activities. You mainly collaborate and interact with teams.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1.Medical activities
- Assist the nurse in organizing and providing care and treatment to patients, respecting at all times the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity and medical confidentiality.
- Ensure the cleanliness of your work environment (including facilities, equipment, linen, equipment, and sorting and eliminating waste).
- Compensate for any lack of autonomy of patients by assisting and helping them with eating, personal hygiene, travel and general comfort.
- Participate in monitoring and monitoring the patient and report any useful information to the nurse.
- Respond to the nurse’s requests in an emergency.
- Participate in basic health education sessions.
- Participate in monitoring nursing activities (correctly completing patient files, etc.) and ensuring relevant transfer of information between service teams.
- Report any problem occurring in the care unit, including loss, theft or damage to equipment or medications.
- Work in collaboration with nurses, maintenance workers and caregivers.
- Actively participate in the hospital platform (meetings, committees, etc.) and training.
- Participate in any other related activity as requested by the supervisor.
2.Other provisions:
- Observe the ALIMA internal regulations
- Strict respect for medical confidentiality
- During night shifts, provide very close supervision of all patients in your care and do not sleep during service hours.
EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
You hold a Nursing Assistant Diploma or equivalent, you have professional experience of at least 2 years minimum in a similar function, experience of at least 2 years in a context of humanitarian medical intervention, a experience in terms of team management and supervision. You have good analytical, organizational, listening and significant empathy skills. You are dynamic, autonomous, rigorous, proactive.
LANGUAGES
- Excellent written and oral expression in French and Creole
- Good written and oral expression in English
