Gender and Human Rights Coordinator. Sahrawi Camps At Doctors of the World


Mission

The purpose of the position is to contribute to improving the incorporation of the intersectional gender approach in the World Physicians Programs in the Saharawi refugee population camps (CPRS), promoting the right to health of the refugee population by identifying, formulating, implementing, and evaluating actions that consider the social and gender determinants of health.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the incorporation of the gender approach based on human rights and other transversal approaches, in the strategy and programs of Doctors of the World in the Saharawi camps in Tindouf.

Promote the development of the mission’s human rights-based gender approach and its realization through the intervention of MDM in CPRS.

Contribute and actively participate in the different phases of the project cycle: identification, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring the incorporation of cross-cutting approaches to gender based on human and anthropological rights in the actions carried out, and guaranteeing their adaptation to the context of the CPRS.

Contribute to the design and implementation of the MEAL systems of the MDM programs with tools, instruments, mixed focus methods, indicators, participatory actions and activities to ensure the incorporation of gender-based cross-cutting approaches based on human rights and anthropological approach in programs.

Advise and propose actions so that MdM programs are aligned with international strategies, conventions and protocols in the field of human rights, women’s human rights, sexual and reproductive rights and rights of people with disabilities.

Identify and collect lessons learned and good practices in mainstreaming human rights-based and anthropological gender mainstreaming in MDM programs, based on evidence, promoting and leading the production and management of knowledge.

Comply with the corresponding sections of the reports and documents for the return of results in accordance with the requirements of the Donors and the internal monitoring tools of MDM.

Propose and execute actions and initiatives that promote an organizational culture of equality within the team that integrates the MdM mission.

Guarantee the technical and management training of national teams and local counterparts, providing support when necessary and ensuring a proactive and constant flow of communication.

Support the Country Coordination in representation and dialogue with financing entities.

Minimum requirements

Training

Academic Degree: Academic training: degree / bachelor’s degree in social and / or health sciences

Cross-sectional training in human rights and gender.

Training or proven experience in project formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, with a gender and human rights focus

Additional Training: Specialized training in protection, public health, International Cooperation and / or Humanitarian Aid.

Requirements

Languages: Spanish C1, English B2. Valuable French and Arabic.

Computing: Professional management of the Microsoft Office package and MS SharePoint tools.

Experience

Experience in similar two-year positions.

Experience in coordination of gender and human rights projects.

Experience in third sector organizations.

Competences

Orientation to results and creative capacity in problem solving.

Management capacity and motivation of multidisciplinary teams.

Good communication, writing and negotiation skills.

Indefinite contract.

Workday: 40 hours / week.
