As part of our institutional co-management team, the successful candidate will be expected to share responsibility for Inter Pares ’ financial, administrative, and political well-being and direction. The co-management team operates on a parity basis – equal salary, equal responsibility – guided by principles of consensus-based decision-making. All co-managers participate in management committees, administration, raising funds, donor relations, board relations, external representation, and public engagement.

The Fundraising Program Manager
As a member of Inter Pares communications and fundraising team, the funding program manager will be responsible for relationship building with existing Inter Pares donors, as well as reaching new supporters. They will engage program managers and the board of directors to support fundraising efforts. While watching trends in the charitable sector, they will adapt our programs to these changes. This position is full-time, based in Ottawa.

Responsibilities of the Fundraising Program Manager
coordinate the direct mail program
develop and implement a middle donor program
write and coordinate foundation grant proposals and reports
write and personalize correspondence with donors
donor Relations by phone and in person
monitor and report on fundraising results to the all-staff team and board of directors
travel occasionally within Canada to meet with donors and/or the public
participate in various management committees

The candidate should have the following experience, skills, and attributes:
• solid experience and/or aptitudes in all or most of the above responsibilities
• commitment to social justice, feminist principles, equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression
• Commitment to collective work; ability to work in a team and without direct supervision
excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and an ability to write for a variety of audiences (see below for language requirements)
good interpersonal skills and experience with and/or enthusiasm for consensus decision-making and group process
analytical capabilities and capacity to think and work strategically and creatively
financial management, administrative, and organizational skills
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion; availability to travel within Canada or internationally is an asset (a contribution towards children care expenses for the above is accessible)
• Experience with donor databases

Language requirements
excellent writing, speaking, and editing skills in English or French AND
good to excellent written and oral communication skills in the other language

Salary and benefits
The salary for this post starts at $74,444. It also comes with a general benefits package that includes extended health coverage and retirement planning benefits. All new staff begin with four weeks of vacation, which increases with seniority.

Workplace
The position is based in our office in Ottawa. Inter Pares has a hybrid work model. For newly hired staff, in office presence is required for 30 days during the first three months of onboarding. In office presence is required for all staff at least five days/month, including all in-person program and staff meetings.

The successful candidate will share the financial, administrative and political responsibility for’orientation and health of’Inter Pares with the’management team. The’co-management team works in parity – equal pay, equal responsibility – according to the principles of consensus decision-making. The’ set of co-managers contributes to the various areas of work: management committees, administration, fundraising, relations with the donor base, relations with the’ board of directors, etc, external representation and public engagement.

Program manager position, fundraising
Within the’ communication and fundraising team, the selected person will be responsible for developing relationships with the’Inter Pares donor base, in addition to expanding this base. It will mobilize the program managers and the board of directors around the fundraising. On the lookout for trends in the charitable sector, she will adapt our programs to these changes. Based in Ottawa, the position is full-time.

coordinate the direct mail program

draft and coordinate grant proposals and reports to foundations
write and customize correspondence with the donor base
ensure relationships with the donor base by telephone and in person
control the results of the fund-raising and report to the’ staff team and the’ Board
travel Occasionally to Canada to meet the donor base/the public

The successful candidate must possess the following experience, skills and attributes :
• solid experience or aptitudes in connection with all of the above responsibilities, or most of them
• Engagement towards social justice, feminist principles,’ equity,’antiracism and’anti-oppression
• Commitment to collective work; ability to work in a team and without direct supervision

good interpersonal skills and experience of/or enthusiasm for consensus decision making and group processes
capacity for’analysis, ability to think and work strategically and creatively
skills in administrative and financial management, organizational capacities
• Disposition to work in the evening and on weekends on the’ occasion; ability to travel to Canada and’international an asset (possible allowance for childcare expenses)
• Experience with donor and donor databases

Language requirements
excellent French or English skills – oral, written and revised ET
good to very good skills in’other language – oral and written

Salary & benefits
The base salary for this position is 74,444 $. This is’ accompanied by a generous range of’benefits, including extensive medical protection and a pension plan. For all the staff, the holidays are four weeks on arrival and increase according to the’seniority.

Work place
The position is based in Ottawa. Inter Pares offers a hybrid model. The new staff must be present at the office for 30 days within the first three months in office. Attendance at the office is required for all staff at least five days/month, including all staff or program meetings to be attended by all staff.
