Economic Recovery Assistant At Danish Refugee Council


The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide adequate assistance with a rights-based approach for refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees and migrants. DRC has been present in Colombia since 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Action against Mines (HMA) and providing support to the population affected by the conflict in the south of the country, but 2018 expands its operations in response to the Venezuelan crisis. DRC Colombia is currently implementing a humanitarian response with Economic Protection and Recovery actions for Venezuelan and Colombian refugees and migrants returned in Colombian cities such as Riohacha, Barranquilla and Bogotá,currently it also incorporates activities in the municipality of Barbacoas and in Norte de Santander.

About employment:

Under the technical supervision of the Economic Recovery team of the National Office, carry out all prior management, preparation and request for cash deliveries to beneficiaries of DRC Colombia’s Economic Recovery programs.

Carry out complementary operational and technical activities for the effective and professional performance of the activities of the DRC Economic Recovery programs, in coordination with the National Office team.

Responsibilities:

Implementation of Economic Recovery programs.

  • Consolidate the information of the new beneficiaries of the Economic Recovery Programs according to the periodicity of each project, for the preparation and request of the dispersion of their first payment, to the corresponding areas.
  • Monitor the news of active beneficiaries within the Economic Recovery Programs in order to prepare and request the dispersion of their pending payments to the corresponding areas.
  • Be the focal point for monitoring, managing and resolving PQRs related to payments for Economic Recovery programs.
  • Support the preparation of reports.
  • Other technical or operational support activities that are necessary for the development of Economic Recovery programs.

Minimum experience required and skills:

  • 1 year of relevant experience in humanitarian assistance / action, social work, human rights or other similar field work, related to an NGO or other non-profit organization.
  • Field experience and work with urban and / or rural communities in situations of vulnerability or marginalization.
  • Advanced knowledge of the office package (Excel fundamentally)
  • Experience in managing databases.
  • Will and ability to learn.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High professional ethics.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and / or experience in Economic Recovery programs and Financial Service Providers.
  • Calm and diplomatic character.
  • Ability to create a good team environment

Studies:

Relevant university degree (eg political science, economics, international development, social work, psychology, human rights) or equivalent professional qualification.

Languages:

Understanding the English language (desirable).
