Consulting for the Development and Implementation of a Virtual Course on Incidence based on the Rights of Persons in Human and Climate Mobility with a Faith-Sensitive Approach, aimed at Churches and Faith-Based Organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

CONTEXT AND GOALS

The main objective of the consultancy is the development and implementation of a 42-hour virtual training with a transformative focus on gender and human rights, aimed at strengthening the capacity of Churches and Faith-Based Organizations (OBFs) in 12 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean on issues of incidence for people in human mobility. It seeks to promote a profound change in the understanding and approach of gender issues, as well as to improve the competences of the participants to carry out advocacy based on human rights, all this for

participants with important differences in their national contexts and with diverse experience in programs or initiatives related to advocacy.

EXPECTED PRODUCTS

one. Curriculum for Virtual Training adapted to the participants:

The consultant will develop a comprehensive curriculum for a 30-hour virtual course. This curriculum should address key advocacy issues for promoting the rights of people in the process of human mobility in LAC. The curriculum is expected to reflect a transformative gender approach and to effectively incorporate human rights into the impact that

members of the ACT Alliance perform. The curriculum must be adapted to the selected participants, who come from Iglesias and OBFs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Phase I includes 10-12 interviews / meetings with key actors of the ACT Alliance to receive advice for the development of the curriculum.

2. Methodology and Teaching Audiovisual Material:

The consultant will design a participatory methodology for each training session from 1.5 to 2 hours each session. In addition, didactic audiovisual material will be produced. The goal is to create a learning environment that encourages reflection and participation. The consultant or consultant must work with the regional team to identify cases of good practices from the

same Alliance that can serve as examples for some of the classes.

At this stage, it is expected that the consultancy evaluated the FABO platform as a platform where the virtual course carried out and its materials will be made accessible globally to guarantee material compatibility.

3. Incidence Toolkit:

An advocacy toolkit focused on gender-transforming approaches will be developed, sensitive to faith and based on human rights for advocacy from Iglesias and OBFs in Latin America and the Caribbean. This kit will provide resources and practical strategies for

promote transformation into laws and policies related to human mobility and social mobilization. The kit will maintain as its central axis the role and added value of the Churches and OBFs in the region. The toolkit is expected to be developed with an aesthetic and visually appealing approach. The consultant should use visual resources that highlight the information clearly and effectively, optimizing the presentation of complex content in formats accessible and pleasant to users.

4. Course implementation:

During 2024, the consultant will implement the virtual course, guaranteeing an enriching educational environment and promoting the effective transformation of the perspectives and practices of the participants.

5. Report on the outcome of the course and steps to follow for the ACT Alliance

The consultant will generate a detailed report with the results of the virtual course, which will include analysis of the achievements, challenges and experiences of the participants. The report is expected to have a maximum length of 8-10 pages and provide quantitative and qualitative information on the impact of the course on understanding and applying gender concepts, human rights and advocacy. The report will also contain specific recommendations

for the ACT Alliance regarding the continuity of capacity building and the improvement of its advocacy strategies and work with Churches and OBFs. The consultant will socialize the results and recommendations report.

PROFILE OF THE CONSULTORY

We are looking for a consultancy with solid experience in advocacy, specifically in issues of human mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, experience and knowledge in gender justice, human rights and work with religious organizations is required.

The ability to integrate transformative gender approaches and human rights into religious and faith-sensitive contexts is essential. In addition, the ability to develop effective educational materials and participatory methodologies will be valued.

• Relevant Experience: The consultant must have previous experience in the design and execution of training programs, particularly in topics related to incidence in LAC, migration and displacement, gender, human rights and work with religious organizations or CBOs.

• Thematic Knowledge: It must demonstrate a deep understanding of the concepts of incidence, gender transformation, human and climate mobility. I wish the consultancy had experience in integration in religious and faith-based contexts.

• Graphic Design and Didactic Material Skills: The consultant must have demonstrable skills in creating high-quality visual and teaching materials. You should be able to develop charts, infographics, and other visuals that improve participants’ understanding of the content.

• Education and Training: A professional degree in related fields such as gender, human rights, theology or related areas would be a plus.

• Communication Skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with different audiences, both in writing and in oral presentation.

• Cultural and Religious Flexibility: Since the project involves working with

Religious organizations, an understanding and respect for cultural and religious diversity is needed.

• Facilitation Skills: Being able to facilitate productive and participatory group discussions, fostering an interactive learning environment.

• Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and coordinate activities.

• References and Portfolio: You must provide references of previous projects and examples of similar work done.

• Technological Tools: Familiarity with the technological tools necessary to carry out online surveys, virtual interviews and development of didactic material.

• Commitment: You must demonstrate availability to work according to the agreed schedule and commitment to the quality of the project.

• Teamwork and Integrity: The consultant is expected to act with integrity, respecting confidentiality and professional ethical principles and is committed to teamwork and the creation and maintenance of a good work environment.

• Languages: Mandatory Spanish. English, Portuguese, French and / or Creole will be valued.

PAYMENT AND TIMES

Payment: 30% of the total amount, that is, USD $ 3,500 will be paid to the consultant at the beginning of Phase I, after signing the contract and sending proof of social security payment.

– Final Payment: The rest, that is, USD $ 2,000, will be paid to the consultant after the presentation and approval of the deliverables of Phase II and presentation of the invoice.

Phase II: Implementation – August, September and October or September, October and November

– Amount: USD $ 2,000

– Deliverables: Adjusted course design

– Successful implementation of the course

– Report (max. 10 pages) on the course and its results.

– Others requested

Payment: The maximum total amount of Phase II, that is, USD $ 2,000, will be paid to the consultant after the presentation and approval of the deliverables of Phase II.

The maximum total contemplated for consulting is: USD $ 5,500

Note 1: Compliance with milestones and delivery of the products mentioned in the terms of reference are a requirement for the disbursement of the corresponding payments. Payment terms may be subject to adjustments based on the actual project execution schedule.

Note 2: There is some flexibility regarding dates.

This form of payment is based on the agreed structure and reflects the distribution of compensation according to the two phases of the consulting project.

The consultancy will present the products progressively, subject to reviews and approvals. Payment will be made in agreed stages as specific products and respective invoices are delivered. Additional details on deliverables and payments will be established in the consulting contract.
