L’UNOPS has been supervising activities in Tunisia since 2006 in various sectors in order to support the government in the implementation of programs with a positive impact. The’UNOPS office has 4 strategic axes of intervention’: 1) procurement, 2) complex project management, 3)’infrastructure 4)’technical assistance.

For several years,’UNOPS has been working in direct support of the Ministry of Health. The fields of’ intervention of the Tunis office range from the construction of structures to the management of’procurement processes. This offer aims to recruit a Technician

  •  e who will join the technical health team’ and will have to work initially within the project of’ support to the operations and will have to travel in various governorates of the country.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Project Manager, Technician

  •  ne in biomedical engineering – senior analyst
  •  e will have to perform the following tasks :
  •  Provide technical support for the establishment of a medical equipment management system (material inventory, preventive measures).
  •  Accompany the’UNOPS technical team assigned to the’execution of the project or projects in which it will be assigned.
  •  Support the verification visits of the hospital spaces before the reception of the equipment make recommendations
  •  Ensure the follow-up of deliveries, installation, marketing of medical equipment/mobilier within the beneficiary health institutions.
  •  Work in close collaboration with the’ team of the Ministry of Health and hospital staff.
  •  Develop the technical specifications required for’purchase of’medical equipment.
  •  Participate in the technical’assessment processes of the bids received for medical equipment/furniture;
  •  Work closely with the’ support team and ensure’ optimize the activities of the project or projects in which he/she will be assigned ;
  •  Execute all other tasks according to the instructions of the Project Manager in order to facilitate the execution of the deliverables of the project or projects in which he will be assigned.

S’ ensure that the expected products are well controlled for each activity in which it (it) is involved, within the specified tolerance limits with regard to deadlines, costs, etc, quality, scope, risks and benefits. The Technician

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

  •  A degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, industrial engineering or equivalent is required
  •  An undergraduate university degree (BAC+3) in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, and, industrial engineering or equivalent combined with 2 additional years of’relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of BAC+5
  •  A certification in project management is an asset

Experience:

  •  Four (4) years of relevant professional experience in the field of biomedical engineering of which at least one (1) in a hospital setting is required,
  •  Successful work experience with a variety of health sector stakeholders, especially governments and development partners, is desirable,
  •  Work or internship experience in the hospital environment is desirable ;
  •  Work experience in developing countries is an asset,

Languages:

  •  An excellent command of French and English are required.
