Social Equity and Rights Manager, Biodiverse Landscapes Fund Lower Mekong Landscape At Fauna & Flora International


Salary: USD 41,800 per annum

Contract Type: Three year fixed-term contract

Location: Phnom Penh, with regular travel across Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos

Fauna & Flora is seeking an experienced conservation and development manager to advance our community centred approach in an exciting role within our new BLF programme. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that human rights, human well-being and social equity are at the core of our activities, project delivery and conservation goals. Integral to this mission is the commitment to safeguarding and respecting the rights of the Indigenous People and Local Communities. The role further entails strengthening governance systems that empower these communities to effectively contribute to long-term nature conservation goals. You will support Fauna & Flora country teams and our BLF consortium partners in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting Fauna & Flora Cambodia team and consortium partners, ensuring that project activities adhere to social safeguards, address gender issues, and contribute to well-being and social equity. You will have technical skills in the development, management, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation of social equity, good governance and rights-based approaches, in a conservation context. You will have a strong background in social science. Ability to think critically and analyse complex and nuanced problems.

This position presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with and enhance the capacity of our team, consortium partners, government, local NGOs, and local communities of Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos PDR while advancing conservation objectives. You will have strong facilitation, training, and coaching skills. You are self-motivated, independent, and resourceful, while also being a team player with ability to seek out views of others and build positive working relationships with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Able to work effectively in a supervisory role, supporting managers, and decision makers.
