About Horan Foundation

HORAN FOUNDATION is a Syrian-focused non-profit organization working in Syria and countries of asylum with no discrimination. Through emergency interventions, meeting their basic needs, and implementing highly competent community development programs.
HORAN FOUNDATION was established with the escalation of the Syrian crisis at the beginning of 2012 in Jordan and registered in Turkey in 2014 and Switzerland in 2016, where it started as a group of friends to provide emergency humanitarian assistance in Daraa and its countryside. Since then, HORAN FOUNDATION has developed to become one of the largest organizations supporting the Syrian people, through the implementation of 350 projects that helped the lives of more than 10 million beneficiaries throughout the Syrian territory and neighboring countries asylum, and also contributed to the establishment of the Platform of Syrian Associations (Minber Suriye), one of the most important coordination platforms for humanitarian workers in the Syrian affairs. It has a membership of the NGO Forum and membership in Syrian Networks and membership in the Forum for the Voice of the Displaced Syrians.

Overall Purpose:

The Shelter Engineer Officer is a key member of the construction team and plays a crucial role in executing and managing construction and building operations at the site. They are responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction activities to ensure they are carried out in accordance with specified standards and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

· Construction Monitoring:

– Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure they are in compliance with specified standards.

– Provide guidance and advice to contractors and workers to ensure proper execution of work.

· Report Preparation:

– Prepare regular reports on the progress of work, potential issues, and proposed solutions.

– Present reports to the Project Manager on a regular basis.

Work Coordination:

– Collaborate with construction contractors, suppliers, and consulting engineers to ensure smooth coordination of construction operations.

– Resolve problems and challenges that may arise during construction operations.

Site Inspection:

– Assess site safety and compliance with regulations and safety standards.

– Ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment for construction activities.

Communication:

– Maintain ongoing communication with the Project Manager and the construction team to achieve project goals and timelines.

– Communicate regularly with other stakeholders and provide updates on the project’s status.

Qualifications and Skills:

– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

– Previous experience for 4 years in managing construction and building operations.

– Strong analytical skills and the ability to make quick decisions.

– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

– Good knowledge of engineering regulations and standards.

– Proficiency in computer skills and engineering software.

– Commitment to safety at the work site.
