ABOUT THE WORK

At Relief Applications, you will join a multinational team, where you will be part of’ an innovative group, which will, imagining and creating cutting-edge solutions to change the way we help people affected by disasters.

As the person in charge(e) of information management within the humanitarian consultancy team, and, you will participate in a complete solution development lifecycle that understands partner needs and translates them into actionable data solutions. Relief Applications always develops multiple projects simultaneously, which requires an ability to quickly adapt to new skills and tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the implementation of the IM and SERA strategy, in collaboration with the humanitarian consultancy team ;
• Evaluate and analyse pre-existing systems, tools and data sets for the management of’information of client partners ;
• Question and understand the requirements and constraints of client partners and translate them into concrete data solutions ;
• Implement solutions using different data collection and visualization tools (such as KoboToolbox, PowerBi, Stata etc.) according to the requirements and constraints of the client partners ;
• Design, develop and manage data sets ;
• Facilitate mobile data collection, development and data management ;
• Create and share data visualizations ;
• Provide training to relevant client partners to improve the ownership of IM systems and tools, as well as to improve data management ;
• Generate and produce reliable, accessible, relevant and timely information ;
• Provide maps and graphs / infographics that facilitate planning ;
• Ensure timely, consistent and accurate documentation of data to help transform data into useful content for vulnerable populations ;
• Provide regular updates to the team on relevant topics and trends and support editorial processes to transform data trends into content that is attractive to target audiences ;
• Contribute to the improvement and implementation of the data collection and analysis tools developed by Relief Applications (example: OORT – https://www.oortcloud.tech/)
• Support the project manager with other tasks as needed.

PROFILE REQUEST

Education

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology, information management, computer science, GIS, disaster management or any other equivalent field.

Skills

• English and French required
• Strong computer science skills with advanced skills in MS Excel and statistical analysis
• Strong knowledge of mobile data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, XLS Form)
• Strong knowledge of data visualization (PowerBi, Tableau, GIS tools)
• Database management skills, web technology
• Understanding of the needs and constraints of the humanitarian MEAAL ( monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning )
• Ability to develop a training module or user guide dedicated to information management as a whole or focused on IT tools or steps – adapted to various types public
• Ability to implement complex and participatory projects.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision with dynamism and initiative.
• Knowledge of CMS, Drupal, WordPress, Strapi is an asset

Experience

• At least 2 years of professional experience in the field of Information Management in a multicultural environment
• At least 1 year of professional experience in the humanitarian sector
• Experience in handling confidential data is a plus

Salarial scale

27k to 31k for French contracts (to be adjusted according to location)
