Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Gaziantep /Turkey

Work Type: Full time

Job purpose:

Bonyan is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team and lead a variety of projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of successful project management. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be responsible mainly for:

Objective 1: Follow up day to day implementation of WASH\SNFI activities:

  • Provide key support to the humanitarian projects coordinator overseeing WASH\SNFI project activities implemented and coordinating with the WASH\Shelter Engineers and team leaders on WASH\SNFI activities implementation.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to all related planning, design, implementation, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Develop technical guidelines, management tools, and positioning documents.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to operational managers and partners.
  • Validate technical designs and tender documentation.
  • Coordinate and maintain a detailed sector implementation plan to achieve project goals on time and on budget.
  • Evaluate the technical status of projects and propose any amendment steps to achieve project objectives.
  • Support the elaboration of tools for beneficiary identification and selection for different activities.
  • Coordinate and follow up the day-to-day implementation of project activities to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Track and record information related to project beneficiaries, support MEAL team leaders in handling requests and complaints regarding the implementation of projects.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly activities progress reports regarding project implementation to the WASH/SNFI Program Officer.
  • Support in the documentation process for project activities.
  • Prepare additional reports and presentations as needed, like steering committees, and follow-up meetings.
  • Attending project-related meetings and training.
  • Attend WASH\SNFI cluster coordination and other relevant meetings.
  • If requested, represent the project in front of relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly share information on lessons learnt in the field.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the WASH\SNFI Project Manager.

Objective 2: Orientation of the WASH\SNFI strategy:

  • In collaboration with program and management teams, advise on the integration and complementarity of WASH\SNFI interventions alongside another sectoral programming to achieve maximum effectiveness and benefit.
  • Reinforce program learning and sharing across sectors.
  • Develop and document an evidence base for programming through best practice approaches.
  • Contribute to country office strategies, reviews, action, and contingency plans.

Objective 3: Support and advice provided to Logistics, Finance, and Administration:

  • Track and advise programming amendments in relation to WASH\SNFI budgets and implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR department in the recruitment, retention, and development of WASH/SNFI capacity in the field team.
  • In collaboration with the Area Managers and Admin department, support the timely submission of purchase requests and ensure the timely development of project documentation for tenders, supplies, and sub-contracts.

Objective 4: Proposal writing, Reporting, and New Business Development:

  • Elaborate Concept Notes and Proposals for WASH\SNFI projects
  • Submit regular technical reports as required.
  • Monthly contribution to sit-rep and activity updates.
  • Provide timely technical contributions to donor proposals and reporting documentation.
  • Contribute to newsletters, interviews, and another general program related reportages.

Objective 5:

  • Ensure adherence to internationally recognized protection principles, standards, and relevant international and local regulations.
  • Ensure adherence with BONYAN’s code of conduct and other internal policies i.e., on confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion including the BONYAN’s commitments to the protection against sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
  • When and as requested by the DPMs and field supervisors, support BONYAN teams by establishing and maintaining a constructive dialogue with respective stakeholders responsible for social and protection services delivery.
  • Assist BONYAN teams with other project activities as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate beneficiary boundaries.
  • Assist in the development, preparation, and conducting of community events on special days such as world refugee day, international women’s day, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and conducting of group information and awareness-raising sessions on various topics, including child labor, gender-based violence, access to social assistance, health, education, women’s rights, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and conducting of stakeholders’ sensitization activities.

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a position related to projects coordination.
  • Ability to manage on a technical level and take the initiative daily.
  • Very good coordination skills
  • Training and mentoring experience with field technical colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and representative skills
  • Experience working with host governments, UN bodies, INGOs, and local NGOs.
  • Enhance donor relations in emergency/humanitarian context.
  • Adaptability and ability to re-priorities according to the changing context
  • Able to work effectively and creatively within a team.
  • Ability to manage local staff in a mature, respectful, and impartial manner.
  • Extensive experience in project cycle management.

  • Experience in liaising with government authorities, other national/international institutions, and NGOs, and building effective partnerships.
