CONTEXT AND JUSTIFICATION OF THE POSITION:

The WFP Office in Kalemie is currently looking for a Timekeeping Assistant at Supply Chain/Warehouse operations, SC2 level, and for an initial period of 12 months, renewable.

The objective of this position is to clock merchandise and assist with warehousing and physical inventory activities to make merchandise management as accurate and efficient as possible.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list):

Under the direct supervision of the Storekeeper, clock receipts and shipments of goods, ensure and manage the proper storage of goods and help carry out a physical inventory at regular intervals, write precise tally reports, supervise the cleaning of the warehouse. warehouse after loading/unloading the goods.

The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the following main responsibilities and tasks:

  1. Check receipts and shipments of goods, including during milling operations carried out internally, and detect anomalies and communicate them to the line manager, in order to reinforce the precision and efficiency of goods management in the ‘warehouse.
  2. Ensure and manage the proper storage of goods and assist in carrying out a physical inventory at regular intervals following established guidelines and standards, in order to contribute to compliance with internal control procedures and systems.
  3. Prepare accurate tally reports, including efficiently preparing and distributing tally sheets to interested parties, to consistently and promptly account for the movement of goods into and out of the warehouse.
  4. Supervise the cleaning of the warehouse after loading/unloading of goods and restocking to ensure that the WFP warehouse meets established standards.
  5. Contribute to Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) control operations by ensuring warehouses are clean and pest free, checking stock daily for signs of infestation/damage, conducting weekly warehouse inspection and writing inspection reports.
  6. Any other task coming from the hierarchy

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Formation:

  • Completion of secondary education.

Experience wanted:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising teams of handlers.
  • Experience in conducting simple logistics activities (tallying).

Knowledge and skills:

  • Warehouse and inventory management;
  • Supply chain management and optimization;
  • Planning, project management and resource management;
  • Information management and reporting;
  • Market analysis, contract management and operational execution;
  • Technical assistance and coordination;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Languages:

  • Mastery of oral and written communication in French.
