Plant Engineer At Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development

The School-Based Program includes, among its activities, school meals served in initial, primary and mixed schools. To ensure its implementation, maintenance actions for school kitchens have been planned, in order to ensure the minimum operation necessary to allow the implementation and continuity of this food delivery modality. The plant engineer will work in coordination with the School Meals Team and will be required for a maximum hiring time of six (06) months.
School kitchen maintenance activities:
Kitchen maintenance actions are minimal activities that the partner can carry out in kitchens, after evaluating the plant engineer and with the approval of WFP, to ensure the continuity of school meals served in schools.
These actions have been prioritized by WFP and must be attended in accordance with the progressive evaluation of the partner throughout the FLA at each visit and the order of importance that it has assigned WFP:
• Technical kitchen service: ensure the operation of the stove for food preparation.
• Light water adduction and discharge of wastewater: ensure sufficient white water pressure
and correct operation of the pumping system; ability to store water for the preparation of
food (in tanks or pipotes); taps and siphons in good operation (not isolated, without dripping)
• Storage space: installation of parabiches on warehouse doors, openings of
warehouse ventilation spaces, purchase of skeletal shelf in case the storage space needs to be expanded.
• Repair of kitchen electrical items: technical service to refrigerators and freezers; purchase of spare parts
and maintenance of blenders, kitchen assistants and other kitchen electrical items that contribute to the preparation of food at school.
• Security: supply of padlocks and lock; repair of existing enclosures.
For these activities, the member may have a maximum amount of usd 600 per school throughout the FLA, not interchangeable between schools.
These actions will not require the hiring of a gang, so the partner must coordinate with the school personnel the installation of the items / tools supplied and follow up on their correct installation. In the case of the technical service of kitchens, refrigerators or freezers, the technical service offered will be paid for.
