BACKGROUND

Education is the basis for improving the quality of life for people of all ages and from all contexts. This means that access, permanence and satisfactory completion of basic education for children and adolescents constitute an urgent need that must be attended to with quality, equity and relevance by States, given that they have the responsibility to give effect to the right to education.

Education is Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, and it is the key to achieving the other sixteen. Hence, the inclusion, equity and quality of education will allow people, among other advantages, to escape poverty, reduce inequalities, promote intercultural dialogue, promote gender equality, responsibly care for the environment and build increasingly tolerant and peaceful societies.

In this framework, the UNESCO Peru Office requires contracting the services of a pedagogical Technical Specialist to provide technical and managerial support in the Office’s Education sector.

OBJECTIVES

Provide pedagogical technical assistance and process management, within the framework of the implementation of the programs and projects of the Education sector of the UNESCO Office in Peru.

MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support in the preparation and review of terms of reference, thematic documents, papers, reports, speeches and presentations.
• Pedagogical technical assistance for process improvement.
• Monitoring and monitoring in the implementation of programs and projects.
• Review of the documents to be approved by the Sector Coordinator, ensuring compliance with the required standards.
• Research and permanent updating of contextual information on the national education sector.
• Monitoring and monitoring of product delivery of sector contracts.
• Monitoring of Program activities and services “ From displacement to integration ”: training program for teachers.
• Update the monitoring tools of the education sector in the programmatic and budgetary aspects, every 3 months.
• Other activities that are required by the Coordinator of the Education Sector of the UNESCO Peru Office.

PRODUCTS

Under the supervision of the National Education Sector Program Officer of the UNESCO Peru Office, the consultant must deliver:

Output 1 Report of the activities carried out and the following annexes:
– A paper on a contextual educational topic
– TDR drafts for services planned for the first quarter of the year
– Documents produced in the month 30 days after signing the contract (20%)
Output 2 Report of the activities carried out and the following annexes:
– Updating of contextual information in the education sector
– Report of results of the training program for teachers of the project “ From displacement to integration ”
– Documents produced in the month 60 days after signing the contract (20%)
Output 3 Report of the activities carried out and the following annexes:
– Project programmatic execution monitoring matrix
– Updating of contextual information in the education sector
– Follow-up matrix to sector contracts
– Documents produced in the month 90 days after signing the contract (20%)
Output 4 Report of the activities carried out and the following annexes:
– Updating of contextual information in the education sector
– A paper on an educational subject of the context
– Documents produced in the month 120 days after signing the contract (20%)
Output 5 Report of the activities carried out and the following annexes:
– Supplies for the final project closing report “ From displacement to integration ”
– Proposal for a concept note for resource mobilization, continuity of care for migrants and refugees
– Documents produced in the month 150 days after signing the contract (20%)

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor of Education, Psychology or related careers
• Completed Postgraduate studies in education, public management, social and human sciences or related

Work experience

• Experience in your profession of 10 years or more.
• Experience in social programs / projects for at least 8 years. If the experience was in the education sector, it will be considered a plus.
• Experience in 5 or more consultancies in the education sector.

Languages

• Spanish (native language level)

The applicant must not have a current contract or appointment with the State.

DURATION

El contrato tendrá una duración de 5 meses, sujeto a disponibilidad presupuestal y evaluación de desempeño satisfactoria. La contratación no contempla expectativas de renovación o conversión a otro tipo de contrato ni incluye cobertura por servicios de atención médica
