Pathways Regional Officer At ILGA World

ILGA World seeks a Pathways Regional Officer to

• support the Regional Lead Organisations in each region in their inception, preparatory and implementation phase establishment and ongoing operations of each of the regional projects (6 to 7), including through the provision of capacity-building where needed;
• support coordination between regional projects for the purpose of information and skills sharing;
• work with the Global Coordinator to develop and implement a process for applications to lead regional surveys, including criteria for assessment;
• ensure that funding agreements are properly acquitted where ILGA World is the principal recipient and support the Global Coordinator to ensure that GPP properly acquits funding agreements where it is the principal recipient;
• manage sub-contracting agreements between ILGA World and the lead organisation in each region;
• work with the Global Coordinator and Global Advisory Group in identifying suitable candidates to be approached to apply for the regional advisory groups;
• support the engagement of the ILGA regions, either as regional leads or on a relevant regional advisory board;
• attend in-person Regional Advisory Group meetings with the Global Coordinator and technical consultants to support the following: determine survey questions, review survey design, determine recruitment strategy, and review survey analysis and report structure;
• support Regional Lead Organisations in their logistics planning of Regional Advisory Group meetings;
• work with the Global Coordinator, GPP and ILGA World to develop and maintain a highly functional working structure of the project within the two partner organisations;
• support the Global Coordinator in communicating the progress and outcomes of the LGBTI Pathways Project to external stakeholders, and
• undertake other relevant duties/tasks designated by the Global Coordinator & ILGA World Director of Programme.

The Pathways Regional Officer will report to ILGA World’s Director of Programmes, with a secondary line of reporting to the LGBT Pathways’ Global Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will start working in January 2024.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree in relevant fields such as international development, human rights, social sciences, or philanthropic studies.
• A first-level university degree in combination with 5 years of relevant and qualifying experience
• 7 years of relevant and qualifying experience in lieu of a master’s or first-level degree
• Project Management Qualifications e.g. Scrum, Agile, Prince II, are an asset

EXPERIENCE

• Experience successfully managing or working in multi-stakeholder, movement-focused projects, preferably at a global and/or multi-regional scale.
• Solid understanding of LGBTI movements at the regional level, through experience working or volunteering in organisations operating across a region or across regional collectives
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in project and stakeholder relationship management, ideally focused on research.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated knowledge of at least one regional LGBTI human rights and development landscape.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a regional or the global LGBTI philanthropic landscape.
• Proficient with the following technology platforms: Google Workspace, Zoom, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, and Expensify.
• Strong database management, analytical, writing, and editing skills.
• Experience in survey methodology and designing research materials e.g. surveys, interview depth-guides, focus group guides. using Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, SAS, SPSS or similar systems.
• Experience in qualitative data collection and analysis.
• Experience in using financial reporting mechanisms for complex grant structures

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
• Stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple constituencies and audiences.
• Ability to work asynchronously with global staff and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to the work and values of the Global Philanthropy Project and ILGA World.

PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND BENEFITS

ILGA World is currently introducing a flexible workplace regime – under the new rules, this position can be implemented remotely and does not require relocation to Geneva, Switzerland. We are currently not hiring in Geneva for this post.

• The position is advertised at 100% of a full-time position.
• ILGA World remunerates under a three-tiered salary matrix structure. The annual salary being offered for the post ranges between 60,000 CHF and 75,600 CHF for the 100% position, depending on location.
• In addition, ILGA World offers 25 days of annual leave and contributions to health care costs.
• ILGA World operates under a flexible working system that – among others – includes flexible working hours.
• The weekly working time is 37.5 hours on a 100% position.
