Casamance (450km south of Senegal) marks the beginning of the rainforest. The agricultural, fisheries and pastoral potential is higher than anywhere else in Senegal. Bordered with bolongs, rivers, marshmallows, mangroves, beaches, wild fruits humanly edible, Casamance is the most tourist area of Senegal. Traditions are more accentuated. Despite all the efforts of the Government and development partners on women’s rights, they still remained too dependent.
For First Cause, the best way to fight against the exploitation of women and for their inalienable rights as stipulated in the various international conventions such as the United Nations, is to, it is imperative to equip them with technical knowledge. This allows them to gain financial autonomy. They will be able to defend their own rights. Cause Premiere believes hard as iron that women are even more intelligent than we would suggest and are the best managers. For this reason, Cause Premiere, with the help of its French partners (PC Coup D’ Pouce), just built a brand new training center in different sectors EXCLUSIVELY for women and girls: the Center for the Vivification of Women’s Intelligence (C.V.I.F).
It’s about the Center for the Promotion of Female Intelligence ( C.V.I.F ) to awaken the intellectual and technical capacities ( even illiterate ) of women and prove to them that they are just as capable or even more.
The center of Promotion of Female Intelligence ( C.V.I.F ) for the making of reusable organic sanitary napkins has just opened its doors in Ziguinchor ( built on 176m ² for 800m ² available ) 10 minutes of radius of all the amenities of the Municipality of Ziguinchor. The vocation of the CVIF is to give equal opportunity to all women first through training on Income Generating Activities such as, among others:
- Saponification training unit (in production)
- Training unit in the manufacture of organic cosmetics
- Training unit for the processing of agricultural and fishery products
- Essential oil extraction unit (carapa procera, basilica, mint, tin, coconut, baobab moringa, avocado, also macerated oils of carrot, aloe Vera etc)
- Advice on matrimonial matters
- Legal assistance (cases of gender-based violence, excision, forced marriage, early marriage, violence in the couple etc.)
- Health prevention and post-trauma support (cyst, fibroma, myoma, cancers)
- Solar station radio fm « mussolu kang » (the voice of women in manding)
- Advice in professional guidance
- Sports room exclusively dedicated to women
In the medium term perspective :
- Confection de serviettes hygiéniques biodégradables à base de fibre de banane pour les femmes en déplacement
- Confection de couches pour bébé et adultes
Pour bien réussir cette mission et mettre en place le Fonds Rotatif d’Incubation Communautaire (F.R.I.C) dont l’objectif est de financer les projets des femmes ayant bénéficié une formation au sein du Centre de Vivification de l’Intelligence Féminine (C.V.I.F) sans devoir compter sur un financement extérieur, l’ONG Cause Première recrute;
- des agents de marketing-vente pour la promotion des produits issus du CVIF permettant de financer les activités des femmes une fois leur diplôme obtenu,
- des volontaires pour la recherche de financement
- des volontaires pour la formation sur ces différentes filières citées plus haut
