Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) has an exciting position at its Head Office in Oslo, Norway for you to take on the role as Institutional Partnership Advisor to contribute to the organisation’s international development and humanitarian aid work and advance its long-term goals to save lives, build resilience and seek justice.

We’re looking for an ambitious person who wants to be part of an international team working on strategic fundraising and grants management with institutional donors. This role would be perfect for somebody experienced within fundraising and donor engagement, looking for a new and exciting challenge. You should have a track record of resource mobilisation with international institutional donors and be driven by being part of a community of engaged humanitarian and development professionals.

Short about the position
The Institutional Partnership Advisor (IPA) will be a member of the Institutional Partnerships and Grants (IPAG) Division in the Department of International Programmes at NCA’s Head Office in Oslo, Norway. The position reports to the IPAG Head of Division.
IPAG is responsible for leading NCA’s cooperation with international and Norwegian institutional and private sector partners and for supporting the organization in how to think innovatively in resource mobilisation. As part of the IPAG division, you will contribute to securing vital funding for NCA to save and improve lives in the countries where we work.

Responsibilities and tasks:
Working days in the IPAG division vary, and your days would be shaped by what you are working on at that given moment: be it an application to an institutional donor for an important project in Syria or Tanzania, capacity development of colleagues globally on how to write winning proposals; or planning and executing strategic engagement with donors for Head Office colleagues. You will encounter hectic periods along the way, and we are seeking candidates who are driven by creating results by tackling a variation of tasks and working with colleagues from all across the organization. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to NCA’s funding ambitions to broaden its donor base with international institutional donors through strategic planning, process leading and capacity building.
  • Supporting strategic engagement efforts with key institutional donors, both at Head Office and at NCA Country Offices, based on donor priorities and opportunities for funding.
  • Assessing funding opportunities and supporting NCA’s Country Offices with resource mobilisation.
  • Leading or supporting the development of winning funding applications or reports to institutional donors and ensuring compliance with donor policies and guidelines.
  • Quality assurance of funding applications and reports to institutional donors and ensuring compliance with their policies and guidelines.
  • Providing Head Office or Country Offices with support to grants management to ensure alignment with donor policies and guidelines.

We are searching for someone with the following profile:

  • You have a minimum of three years of experience working with institutional donors and fundraising, or experience working for institutional donors at the headquarters or field level.
  • You have knowledge of institutional donor priorities and experience with resource mobilisation processes and grant management. Past fundraising experience and knowledge of EU DG INTPA and/or ECHO would be a particular asset.
  • Track record of developing and writing compelling and innovative proposals, solid budgets and funding reports.
  • You have a relevant higher education, for example within social/political sciences or business management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Norwegian or a language where NCA operates is an advantage (French, Portuguese, Arabic).
  • Strong administrative and computer skills (MS applications and 365).
