Job description

Still I Rise, an international NGO, works towards development and the realization of humanitarian projects aiming at providing education and support to refugee children and vulnerable youth, is looking for a Logistics Officer to join the Team in Mumbai, India where Still I Rise works towards opening its new Academy**. The selected profile will be responsible for logistics, supply chain and procurement processes at our educational center. The Logistic Officer will be a proactive and energetic person with strong organizational abilities.**

Key Responsibilities: Set Up Support

  • Support the search for a suitable building location for the Emergency and Rehabilitation School, in coordination with and under the supervision of the Program Manager.
  • Support the Program Manager in managing and supervising the renovation works in the center
  • Implement the procurement processes for all the needed furniture and items in the center
  • Identify and analyze potential transportation routes to and from the School for the students
  • Support the Program Manager in interacting with local stakeholders on behalf of Still I Rise to ensure our program is well received in the hosting community

Operational Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement processes
  • Keep track of supplies and purchases and keep an up-to-date inventory
  • Keep the office tidy and stocked, supporting teachers when supplies are needed
  • Arrange distribution of backpacks/stationary etc for students
  • Organize and run NFI distributions
  • Manage and supervise meal distribution, canteen service and organize special events
  • Run staff onboarding and training regarding the facility and the safety measures, supervising the performance of Auxiliary colleagues
  • Pay suppliers, utilities and expenses following the authorization process
  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of the School building
  • Negotiate and engage contractors

Security Management

  • Support the Program Manager promoting and implementing the health and security guidelines, in order to ensure health and safety in the workplace and healthy living conditions and practices
  • Coordinate with the relevant security clusters
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (i.e. implementing hygiene rules)

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of experience in logistics, supply chain and procurement
  • Experience in accounting and financial management
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good IT skills including use of MS Office, Google Drive, accounting software and Slack
  • Completion of CRB/background check
  • Passion, drive and dedication to Still I Rise mission, vision, and values
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment and willingness to work in a challenging and changing environment
  • Determined team player

Desired Skills & additional requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable people
  • Experience working in a non-profit
  • University career in logistics and supply chain, economics, engineering, international cooperation
