Takaful Al Sham (TAS) has been responding to the Syrian crisis since 2012 and to the Refugee Response in Turkiye since 2013. TAS works in Education, Early Recovery, Food Security, Livelihood & Empowerment, WASH, Protection, Shelter, CCCM, and Emergency Response, where TAS has implemented successfully more than 130 projects in Direct partnership with Institutional donors, UN Agencies, and INGOs such as; BHA, SCHF, UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, IOM, CARE, GOAL, Save the Children, Global Communities, World Vision, DRC, WHH, Archenova, Chemonics. Seeking to save lives and alleviate human suffering through collaborative, local, and sustainable relief and development assistance, TAS believes that empowerment of women, adolescents, youth, and those who are physically and mentally challenged engage and become proactive in their communities through socio-economic sustainability, development and durable solutions, for a brighter future.

Role Purpose:

An Information Management Officer (IMO) is responsible for overseeing the organization’s data and information management practices, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Data Governance: Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of the organization’s data.

· Data Collection and Entry: Oversee the collection and input of data into databases or information systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

· Data Quality Assurance: Conduct regular data quality checks and audits to identify and rectify data inconsistencies, errors, and duplications.

· Database Management: Maintain and manage databases, ensuring they are well-structured, organized, and optimized for efficient data retrieval.

· Information Security: Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive and confidential information from unauthorized access or breaches.

· Data Analysis: Extract and analyze data to provide insights and support decision-making processes within the organization.

· Reporting: Generate and distribute reports and dashboards to relevant stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and data trends.

· Data Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity.

· User Training: Provide training and support to users and staff on data entry, data management tools, and data security best practices.

· Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and tools in data management and recommend upgrades or improvements to existing systems.

· Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to data management processes, procedures, and data dictionaries.

• Perform any other tasks assigned to him/her by the line manager.
• Adhere to all Takaful Al sham organization’s policies and abide by administrative orders
and disciplinary procedures in case of any violations.
• Abide by the zero-tolerance policy adopted by the Takaful Al sham
organization in cases of sexual exploitation and abuse, and direct reporting
of any violation .

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

2. Knowledge of data management and database systems, such as SQL, Oracle, or similar.

3. Data collection tools (KOBO Toolbox)

4. Knowledge of web development with some programming languages, python is a plus.

5. Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting software.

6. Knowledge of GIS with any GIS Software (QGIS, ARC GIS).

7. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

8. Knowledge of data privacy and information security practices.

9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

10. Project management experience is a plus.

11. Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP – Certified Data Management Professional) may be beneficial.
