Head of Project – Economic Recovery and Livelihoods (National only)
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until December 31, 2024. There are good prospects for an extension. The place of work will be Mykolaiv, in Ukraine.
Managing and implementing projects on the basis of specified directives in terms of content, schedule and budget and according to WHH standards and provisions of the co-financer.
Your responsibilities
- Hold overall responsibility for the implementation of the project in coordination with local partners and according to the workplan and budget.
- In coordination with Livelihoods Coordinator continuously identify the economic recovery needs and opportunities in project areas. Propose and implement actions to cover these needs.
- Manage and recruit the project team including livelihoods officers, business counselors, trainers, and other service providers.
- Coordinate with implementing partners and support them in the implementation of their activities ensuring timely delivery of project outputs.
- Carry out financial management of the projects, producing financial forecasts and verifying budgets vs actual on regular basis.
- Ensure that a project procurement plan is in place and is implemented in coordination with logistics department.
- Collaborate with partnership team in the management of partnership agreements.
- Work with MEAL team to analyze key data linked to project outputs and quality. Share the output-level data with WHH MEAL department as required.
- Attend the project coordination meetings with the consortium partners representing WHH; organize and lead meetings for WHH local project partners.
- Contribute to positioning WHH as a key member in economic recovery action with participation in regional and national coordination meetings relevant to the project, including livelihoods working group meetings and others in coordination with the Livelihoods Сoordinator.
- Regularly meet with local stakeholders including economic development department, municipalities, business associations and others to ensure they are informed about WHH economic recovery activities.
- Actively support Head of Programs and in-country Technical Advisors in the development of new proposals and the country strategy as required.
- Coordinate with the Partnership Advisor on the capacity building needs of local partners and on the identification of potential new partners.
- Generate project updates reports as per the donor regulations and country reporting requirements; ensure progress reporting on the humanitarian forum including activity information.
- Document best practices, lessons learned and challenges together with Livelihoods team, the Head of Programs, and MEAL Coordinator for adaptations of the programs. Ensure that these lessons are shared with internal and external audiences.
- Ensure that economic recovery activities are linked with other projects and especially those of emergency projects.
- Ensure protection mainstreaming in the implementation of the project.
- Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness and comply with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Promote and take an active part in quality improvement processes.
- Comply with labor discipline, labor protection and safety rules, fire-prevention requirements, industrial sanitation and labor hygiene rules, Safety, and Environmental regulations and guidelines.

- Intermediate to fluent level of verbal and written English
