WHAT DO WE DO
SOLIDARITIES INTERNATIONAL ( SI ) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for almost 40 years, has been helping populations victims of armed conflict and natural disasters by meeting vital needs, drink, eat, take shelter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements, through its interventions, expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in that, essential, food security and livelihood. Present in around twenty countries, the SI – 2000 teams in total made up of expatriates, national staff, headquarters staff,of some volunteers …- intervene with professionalism and commitment in the respect of cultures.
THE MISSION
Since March 2020, SI has intervened in France to respond to the COVID 19 health crisis in four territories. Our projects target audiences living in degraded habitats such as slums, camps or squats and having in particular limited access to basic services, in terms of drinking water, sanitation, and access to basic hygiene products. In times of health crisis, the « non-connected » people are more vulnerable and have, more than ever, need to access these Water Hygiene and Sanitation services to be able to apply barrier gestures and improve their living conditions.
Opening of a mission in Mayotte: SI was arrested by local associative actors, concerning the drinking water crisis facing a high share of the population living in the department of Mayotte.
The significant difficulties of access to water, hygiene and sanitation for these people, and therefore the health risks to which they are exposed, led SI to set up a base in Mayotte at the end of 2022 to support local actors through 4 axes :
Coordination of local actors
Containment of epidemic risk
Technical support for the development of local projects for access to water and sanitation
Advocacy and capacity building of local actors
DESCRIPTION OF THE POST
Mission France’s EHA Program assistant performs his duties under the authority of the Field Coordinator based in Mayotte and works in collaboration with EHA program managers and the log-admin of the area.
Mission :
The assistant participates in the ( monitoring and reporting ) programmatic monitoring in support of the Mayotte-based team. He / she participates in the design, technical capitalization and field interventions with EHA program managers.
List of main responsibilities :
Relevance, quality and design of projects
Participate in EHA technical assessment and diagnostic missions and in writing reports under the supervision of the field coordinator in connection with the program managers and the future community mobilizer
Assist program managers and field coordinator in the technical design of activities
Participate in the design of technical innovations for France-Mayotte operations ;
Participate in technical support «; hotline » in associations and institutions with the EHA coordinator.
Monitoring and operational monitoring
Under the supervision of program managers and the field coordinator, update the various monitoring and programmatic management tools ;
If necessary, assist program managers and field coordinator in operational implementations ( installations, maintenance, distributions, … )
Attend the relationship with the technical providers assigned to the activities ( presentation of the activities, technical solutions )
Assist the future community mobilizer and the program manager refer to the activities of kit distributions and hygiene promotion
Capitalization
Participate in the dissemination of procedures, guides and tools related to EHA activities in Mayotte
Participate in capitalization on intervention methods and techniques and on the experiences acquired by Solidarités and other actors for EHA activities ( Sanitation technical solutions, gray water management … )
Participate in the drafting of donor reports under the supervision of the field coordinator
Participate in the creation of ( technical tools, MEAL, … ) and their improvements.
Logistics and financial means
Participate in the proper maintenance of the documentation related to storage in connection with the Log / Admin manager ( Ex: Stock monitoring, inventory, … ) ;
Participate in the logistics / finance cycle linked to the management of EHA ( BCI, OFU, … ) activities
Human Resources
Participate in the search for community relays ( identification and selection ); briefing, support and coordination during interventions in support of the person in charge of the intervention.
Participate at the end of the contract in the recruitment of the trainee replacing ( Revu of the post sheet, publication, pre-selection CV using an analysis grid, participation in interviews and handover )
YOUR PROFILE
Diploma in development, international relations, political science, project management, water study and sanitation or equivalent ;
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office pack and GIS software ;
Good analytical and writing skills ;
Good synthesis capacity
Proactivity and critical thinking
Organization and anticipation
Relational skills
Ability to work under pressure

4.70 € / hour gratification
The gratification is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence over the month ( on average 1 month = 154h, i.e. 22 days of 7h / day )
Tickets restaurant at 8.90 € / effective day of internship, with the participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
