Overview of position:
Under the direct supervision & technical guidance of the Livelihood Program Manager, the Food Security Assistant will assist in implementing, Monitoring & Coordinating Food Security interventions in Northeast Nigeria.

Role objectives:
Coordinate & support the distribution of food security inputs such as agricultural inputs, cash & voucher assistance.
Provide specific technical inputs & contribute to the development of technical guidance when requested by the Project Manager (PM).
Participate in regular field monitoring & evaluation visits with field staff & in close coordination with partners (agricultural & climate related parastatals), sectors (FSS) & working groups (SAFE, agriculture, fishery, livestock)) & relevant our clients units for technical & operational compliance & timely execution of projects vis a vis approved plans & targets.
Work with a gender & protection lens & ensure that an environmental & nutritional sensitivity are always incorporated into all FS plans & activities, support & facilitate the development of an area based response strategy.
Contribute to the provision of feedback, technical improvements, best practices & lessons learned in coordination with the monitoring & reporting colleagues, ensure that information on the reconciliation of deliveries of any inputs is transparent, up to date & complete in accordance with our clients standard, sector & donor requirements.
Assist in procurement & logistical arrangements of FS activities in coordination with relevant units & in compliance with our clients procedures. This includes verification of supplied items in the field & acceptance & / or rejection of items as per designed standards.
Coordinate cash disbursement to entitled payees related to project activities, ensuring that payment is made only against proper authorized documents / vouchers & file related means of verification.
Perform any other general administrative duties assigned by the managers.

Project reporting:
This rolle will work under the direct supervision & technical guidance of the Livelihood Program Manager

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science (agricultural science, energy) or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Effective coordination with project staff & other units within & outside the organization, implementing partners, sectors & other relevant parties.
Experience in food security project design & initiative coordination.
Experience in our clients administrative & financial management, budget monitoring, cash management, cash base intervention & internal control procedures is an advantage.
Experienced in working in respective program / project preferably at the field level, in post emergency & durable solution settings.
Experienced in working in humanitarian settings, experience working on multiple projects within the same period will be an added advantage.
Good coordination skills.
Excellent monitoring skills, managerial skills, organizational skill.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to multi task & deliver on set objectives & timelines in hardship situations.
Experiences in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) & knowledge of spreadsheet & data analysis.
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral & written) & fluency in Hausa, Kanuri & Fulfulde is advantageous.
