Expatriate Coordinator In Morocco At Women for Africa


At the Women for Africa Foundation, we are looking for an expatriate coordinator with solid technical experience in the design, monitoring and justification of projects in the field of development cooperation, with a gender focus; who has a special interest in social innovation and who has experience in working in a consortium and in collaboration with multiple civil society entities and public and private institutions, for the coordination and management of the “I+DeAlgas: Women promoting sustainable development” project in Laguna Marchica”, financed by the AECID in the call for innovation actions for development. The project will be carried out in a consortium and will be led by the Las Palmas Gran Canarias University in close collaboration with the Spanish Algae Bank.

OBJECTIVE of the position: Ensure the qualitative development of the project “I+DeAlgas: Women promoting sustainable development in Laguna Marchica”, in Nador, Morocco, its coordination and economic-financial management according to the requirements, procedures and tools of the donors and of the foundation. Reporting to the project manager at headquarters and in coordination with the local partners of Women for Africa and collaborating institutions.

FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordination:

  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of project activities in coordination with the consortium teams
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with local partners, collaborators and stakeholders in the country and with consortium partners.
  • Guarantee compliance with objectives and quality of results

2. Management:

  • Project execution planning
  • Development and implementation of planning
  • Coordinate monitoring of project activities and budget execution
  • Preparation of monitoring and final reports for different financiers

3. Reinforcement of capacities and support for local partners and collaborating entities :

  • Support the preparation of the annual project planning
  • Accompany/support the progression and quality standards of project activities, establishing reorientation strategies if necessary
  • Support in the identification of the human and material resource needs necessary for the implementation of the intervention following the applicable regulations of the funder and national legislation.
  • Support in the planning and budget execution of the intervention according to the proposed results and objectives
  • Identify project management learning and training opportunities for local partners
  • Ensure transparent, equitable and inclusive management of human resources, in accordance with internal policies and procedures, and with all regulatory requirements of country legislation and donor policy.

3. Institutional strengthening

  • Develop new project proposals in collaboration with the project manager at headquarters.
  • Search for co-financiers at the field level. Coordinate in the field, the development and writing of new quality project proposals.
  • Participate in the development of the Women for Africa strategy in Morocco
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance on key components of the Foundation’s commitment to encourage good practice and ensure compliance.

4. Representation and relationship with institutions

  • Participation in networks and coordinators. and in other coordination meetings when necessary.
  • Maintain institutional representation of the consortium and relationship with donors present in the field, national and local authorities, partners and other interested parties in the country and inform the project manager at headquarters on relevant issues.
  • Support donor relations by contributing to the development of various donor communication products and accompanying donors during field visits
  • Guarantee the visibility of the Foundation and donors

5. Coordination with the MxA headquarters team

  • Maintain periodic meetings with the MxA team at headquarters
  • Management and archiving of project documentation
  • Collaborate on other initiatives from other MxA departments

REQUIRED PROFILE

University degree

University specialization and/or specific training in development cooperation and/or Training in Monitoring and Economic Justification of Social and/or humanitarian Programs.

Level C1 or above: Spanish and French

Use of tools at a professional level: Office automation. Excel Management

Experience as an expatriate aid worker of at least two years in a position of equal category and responsibility.

CONDITIONS

Incorporation: June 2024.

Contract: Duration 22 months, with the possibility of extension, linked to the duration of the project. 6 months trial.

The person must have a DNI or NIE and Social Security Number for hiring according to Spanish legislation.

Full-time face-to-face

Salary according to MxA scale (between €35,000 and €42,000).

Place of residence: Nador, Morocco.
