About: Action Against Hunger
Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been the basis of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, in particular during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Safety and Ways of Existence – Water, Health, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
The main objective of your mission will be to ensure the leadership of technical departments at the national level in order to provide an optimal emergency response to events, as assigned in due course.
In more detail you will need to :
Ensure the implementation of the overall emergency response strategy (intensification of activities, opening of new areas, internal emergencies, etc.)
Represent and liaise, on behalf of programme departments, between donors, authorities, UN agencies and other stakeholders (NGOs, civil society, etc.)
To manage and coordinate program teams in order to facilitate the implementation of a quality emergency response
Your main goal will be to provide leadership of technical departments at country level to deliver an optimal emergency response to events as assigned in a timely manner.
In details you will have to :

Represent and liaise on behalf of programs departments with donors, authorities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders (NGOs, civil society, etc.)
Manage and coordinate the programmes teams to facilitate the quality set up and implementation of the emergency response.
Profile :
You hold a higher diploma ( Bac + 5 ) in project management or other relevant fields related to the requirements of the position. You have demonstrated experience in project management and planning; leadership and complexity management; in managing multisectoral programs; in program budget management ; in senior staff management ( master level ). You have experience in managing emergency and development actions; in writing project proposals. You know donor procedures and strategies. You have good leadership, integrity and honesty skills and good team management and performance monitoring capacity. You have good communication and editorial skills as well as’good stress management and emotional intelligence skills.
You have a graduate degree ( Bac + 5 ) in project management or other relevant fields related to the requirements of the position. You have proven experience in project management and planning; in leadership and complexity management; in managing multi-sector programs; in program budget management; in managing senior staff ( director level ).You have experience in managing emergency and development actions; in writing project proposalsYou are familiar with donor procedures and strategies.You have good leadership skills, integrity and honesty and a good capacity for team management and performance monitoring. You have good communication and writing skills as well as good stress management and emotional intelligence.
Conditions of employment
Contract / Contract: 1 to 3 months fixed-term contract of use under French law / 1 to 3 months fixed term contract under French legislation
Remuneration / salary :
. Gross monthly entry salary from 2899 to 3280 euros depending on experience / Monthly gross salary from 2899 to 3280 euros upon experience
. Per diem and living expenses / Per diem and living allowance: depending on the affected countries / depending on assigned countries
. Allocation linked to the country’s security context / allowance linked to the secure context of the country
. + 16% of the gross monthly retirement insurance reimbursement salary for non-French people / + 16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen
