Digital Marketing Manager At Science Based Targets

The SBTi has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Manager to help drive business globally to set ambitious science-based targets for reducing their emissions in line with a net-zero economy.

This newly-created post will spearhead creative, multi-channel campaigns aimed at increasing uptake of science-based targets among companies and financial institutions world-wide. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing success and supporting conversions at each stage in the SBTi’s company acquisition and retention funnel, including commitment, submission, and updates of science-based targets, across digital touchpoints.

With considerable experience of devising and implementing digital marketing campaigns and strategies leveraging a range of channels and tactics – including b2b campaigns aimed at increasing corporate conversions – you are motivated by the opportunity to tackle the climate crisis by increasing robust, credible, science-based corporate climate mitigation action. About the SBTi:
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets. About the team:
The Communications Department is responsible for managing the SBTi’s reputation and communicating our services, standards and impact globally across media and digital channels. Its Digital Team, which currently includes a Digital Content Producer and Senior Social Media Officer, is led by the Senior Digital and Content manager and manages the SBTi’s digital channels and approaches, including content, web, and social media.

Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement digital marketing strategies and campaigns aimed at increasing uptake of science-based targets, supporting successful target submissions, and driving the development of increasingly ambitious targets globally, including:

  • -Paid search and SEO
  • -Email marketing
  • -Paid social
  • -Content
  • -Conduct or commission audience research aimed at generating insight to inform the development of future campaigns
  • -Optimize SBTi website content and journeys to support key marketing goals, including generating user insight, analyzing user journeys, leveraging analytics data and conducting A/B and multivariate testing
  • -Monitor and evaluate digital marketing campaigns and strategies to improve performance
  • -Manage the SBTi’s Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Grant accounts
  • -Work with teams across the SBTi to maximize the impact of product or project launches through integrated, data-driven digital marketing activity
  • Commission campaign-aligned digital content designed to engage and build relationships with existing and new audiences
  • -As required, create content including copywriting and managing the production of digital communications productsManage relationships with external suppliers of relevant services as required
  • -Ensure the accurate application of the SBTi brand and style guidance across digital platforms

Essential skills and experience needed:

  • -At least five years’ experience in digital marketing roles covering content, email, search marketing and organic and paid social
  • -A demonstrable track record of success in growing supporter or customer bases and increasing conversions, including B2B experience
  • -Significant experience of planning and delivering user-centric digital marketing strategies and campaigns
  • -Ability to be collaborative, agile and iterative in your approach
  • -Comfortable with complexity, and able to quickly understand new data, trends, climate science and technical greenhouse gas measurement approaches
  • -Entrepreneurial spirit to help shape and grow our initiative
  • -Ability to think strategically and creatively: analyze, synthesize, recommend and take actions
  • -Expert communication, presentation, and content development skills
  • -Proven track record working with a range of CMS at an advanced level
  • -Analytics experience – Google Analytics essential, additional tools desirable
  • -Proven success record in digital communications
  • -Project management and coordination skills
  • -Excellent written and spoken English – other languages an advantage
  • -Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment

Desirable criteria:
-Interest in climate mitigation
-Experience working in an international and/or corporate environment

This is a full-time role based in the UK or anywhere in Erop. The salary for this role will be dependent on location and level of experience. This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of extension and it will be reporting to the Senior Digital and Content Manager.
