Mission and objectives
The United Nations Volunteers program is the UN organization that contributes to peace and development worldwide through volunteering. Volunteering is a powerful way to involve citizens to meet development challenges, and capable of transforming the pace and nature of it. Volunteering benefits both society as a whole and volunteers, strengthening trust, solidarity and reciprocity between people and creating appropriate opportunities for participation. To promote peace and development, the UN Volunteers program promotes recognition of the contribution of volunteers,works with partners to integrate volunteering into development programs and mobilizes an increasing and more diverse number of volunteers worldwide, including Volunteers/ace of the United Nations. The UN Volunteers program understands volunteering as universal and inclusive, and recognizes volunteering in all its diversity, as well as the values that underpin it: free will, dedication, commitment and solidarity. The UN Volunteers program carries out its activities within the framework of a double mandate: mobilize volunteers/as for the United Nations system and promote the importance of volunteering in the field of development worldwide.These central tasks are managed through Regional Offices that have Land Units that represent and position the UN Volunteers program in the respective countries and bring the services and solutions of UN volunteers to their partners in governments, UN entities, civil society and the private sector.
Context
In August 2023, the UNV Venezuela Program held a series of training workshops for UNICEF UN volunteers, where videos and photos were collected during the activity, These resources will serve as inputs for the creation of a compilation video of the activity. *Important note: This is a short-lived online volunteer opportunity. The online volunteer will support your free time. In recognition of the service provided, you will receive a certificate validating your collaboration as an online volunteer and you will also be pleased to have contributed to the work of the United Nations, as you develop your skills in the assigned area. Please note that this opportunity does not imply any type of employment or contractual relationship with the United Nations.All services will be provided voluntarily and unpaid.
Task description
Based on the materials provided by the UNV Program, the online volunteer must: Make a ( 1 ) video of a maximum of 2 minutes on the activity carried out with UNICEF. The video design must be aligned with the UNV Program brand image.
