Mission and objectives

The Resident Coordinator Office ( RCO ) develops coordination functions and substantive processes in support of the implementation of the Assistance Framework in Venezuela and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Coordination Office, under the responsibility of the Resident Coordinator and at the service of the Country Team, has the mission to enhance the work and broaden the voice of UN entities working in the country, as well as to promote the comprehension of the analysis and coherence of UN actions. To this end, it performs five core coordination functions: strategic planning; development economics; partnerships and financing for development; data management, results, and accountability; and communication and advocacy.

Context

2023 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In order to publicize this milestone and strengthen the presence on social networks, we seek a volunteer/a online that supports us in creating two editable templates to publish on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. This template will be edited according to the mandates of the different UN agencies, funds and programs in Venezuela. *Important note: This is a short-lived online volunteer opportunity. The online volunteer will support your free time. In recognition of the service provided, you will receive a certificate validating your collaboration as an online volunteer and you will also be pleased to have contributed to the work of the United Nations,while developing his skills in the assigned area. Please note that this opportunity does not imply any type of employment or contractual relationship with the United Nations. All services will be provided voluntarily and unpaid.

Task description

We are looking for 1 online Volunteer who, under the guidance of the Communications Team of the Office of the Resident Coordinator of UN Venezuela, supports the creation of 3 editable templates, creative and visual to publish on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn that allow editing texts and photos for agencies, UN funds and programs in Venezuela can highlight their work for Human Rights. The Online Volunteer should: – Ensure that the designs are consistent with the United Nations brand and aesthetics and the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Style guides will be shared with the online volunteer in advance.- Work in collaboration with the team of the Office of the Resident Coordinator of UN Venezuela to receive feedback and make reviews as necessary. – Develop the templates according to the agreed requirements. Editable templates should preferably be created in Canva. The volunteer/a online will have the opportunity to establish relationships with the OCR Communications Team and learn about how graphic design supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Requirements

Required experience

Candidates should have experience in graphic design, especially in creating content for social networks. Mastery of design tools like Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalents. Mastery of oral and written communication skills. Ability to contribute autonomously and meet the established deadlines. Commitment to the values and principles of the UN.
