I. Organizational Context and Objective of the position

The child protection program administrator will be used by the country office ( CO ) where the child protection program is a component of the country program ( UNSDCF ). The child protection program administrator will report to the child protection specialist who is level 3. Under the technical supervision of the child protection specialist, the child protection program administrator based in Manakara, works closely with the output managers and the emergency focal point of the section, il/it will be responsible for supporting and monitoring the implementation of the child protection program in the Atsimo Atsinanana region in accordance with UNICEF’s mandates and commitment to the protection of the child. He / she provides technical assistance,operational and administrative throughout its mission for child protection programmes/projects implemented in the Atsimo Atsinanana region from planning to results. He/she prepares, executes, manages and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks to facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring of the progress of the program, and, assessment and reporting. implementation, monitoring of programme progress, evaluation and reporting. implementation, monitoring of programme progress, evaluation and reporting.

The effectiveness of the support provided by the’admin in child protection to the preparation, in the planning and implementation of programmes in the region Atsimo Atsinanana contributes to the achievement of sustainable results to create a protective environment for children against harmful practices and all forms of violence, and ensures their survival, their development and their well-being in society. The success of child protection programmes and projects in turn contributes to maintaining and strengthening the credibility and capacity of UNICEF to provide programme services for children mothers and children who promote greater social equality in the country.

To qualify as a defender for each child, you need to :

  •  A university degree in one of the following areas is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, social work, international law or any other relevant area of the social sciences.
  •  A minimum of’un has two years of professional experience in planning and managing social development in areas related to child protection is required.
  •  Relevant experience in developing programmes in child protection-related fields within an agency or organisation of the United Nations system is considered an asset.
  •  Experience in development and humanitarian aid contexts is an additional asset.
  •  Mastery of Malagasy and French is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language or a local dialect of the duty station is considered an asset.
