Overview: DT Global is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our Business Development Division. This role will serve as a supporting member of the Business Development team and will provide essential coordination and administrative support. The Business Development Associate (BDA) will help coordinate capture and proposal efforts, assist with proposal recruitment, and provide research writing support. The BDA will be detail oriented, flexible, take initiative, and will be focused on delivering outstanding support to the Business Development team. This position will report to the Business Development Manager or Senior Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Business Development Administration

  • Support various aspects of the business development process to develop positioning, capture, and proposal development skills.
  • Track business development donor forecasts, conduct desk research in support of specific opportunities or general market intelligence, and prepare competitors analysis.
  • Support capture managers with development of internal BD process documentation, including Opportunity Assessment Forms and Capture Plans, and upload documentation and maintain practice proposal files in knowledge management systems (e.g. NetSuite, SharePoint, and Knowledge Hub).
  • Work closely with the capture/proposal manager during capture and once a solicitation is live, to coordinate logistics and administrative tasks through each stage of the proposal cycle, including coordinating with support teams such as pricing, recruitment, production, and contracts.
  • Draft, review, and format proposal documents including proposal annexes, and recruitment and partner documentation to be tailored to the requirements of the proposal solicitation.
  • Track progress on recruiting and securing staff, review, format, and spin CVs for key and non-key personnel positions.
  • In coordination with proposal managers, prepare pre-teaming agreements, teaming agreements, consulting agreements, and Letters of Commitment for proposal partners and consultants.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for capture trips and may participate in capture trips in a variety of roles including logistics support, note taking, and recruitment.
  • Maintain record keeping for technical and local consultants and manage logistics and administrative tasks for consultants, including travel and submission of timesheets and expense reports.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to program management unit (PMU) members serving in proposal coordinator roles during capture and live proposals.
  • Maintain and update all BD files on SharePoint with necessary information to support overall BD knowledge management and proposal files.

Technical Excellence

  • Analyze regional and country context relevant to assigned proposal(s).
  • Contribute to technical solution designs, reviews, and analysis of proposals and business development strategy.
  • Provide technical writing support for various proposal sections including past performance, corporate capabilities, personnel, or other sections as assigned by the proposal manager.

Education & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least one year of business development experience, preferably on proposals for USAID or other USG agencies
  • Knowledge of USAID and its typical proposal requirements
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape in the USAID contracting space
  • Team player with a proven ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks successfully.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel on short-term assignments overseas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in another language, preferably Spanish, French, or Arabic
