THE POST

Purpose of the post :

Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Team Leader, the’Assistant MEAL is responsible for the conduct of monitoring and evaluation activities in accordance with the work plan.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitoring & evaluation
  • Collaborate with programs to ensure routine data collection according to the work plan of the MEAL department ;
  • Carry out follow-up visits to programme activities and exchange with the’intervention communities on aspects related to accountability issues ;
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection activities in the field ;
  • Support the design and management of monitoring tools to be used during activities and assistance ;
  • During follow-up activities, ensure that beneficiaries are treated with respect, confidentiality and informed consent ;
  • Support the UPDating of data collection tools on the Kobo Toolbox platform ;
  • Develop and update databases for monitoring programme activities ;
  • Contribute to the’ organization of data collection (drafting of Terms of Reference, digitization of questionnaires, planning of surveys, training and supervision of investigators, etc.) ;
  • Verification and processing of’assessment data.

2. Accountability

  • Reinvigorating DRC’s feedback mechanism in communities according to the fundamental humanitarian standard of quality and accountability (CHS) ;
  • Raise awareness and train the communities of’invention of DRC on the use of the return management mechanism of’information ;
  • Follow up on the phone line and suggestion boxes for complaints and returns when needed ;
  • To resolve the problems and conflicts that may arise during the follow-up descents ;
  • Perform feedback to users of the’feedback mechanisminformation ;
  • Analyze the compiled data and design the Dashboard of’informations returns

3.Reports & information

  • Submit monthly reports on monthly achievements and challenges identified ;
  • Support the production of’evaluation report drafts and other internal reports ;
  • Write periodic monitoring reports to ensure that programs have accurate and useful data to inform project development ;
  • Participate in the internal evaluation of the program.

4. Learning and capitalizing on lessons learned

  • Support the culture of’learning of lessons learned in’intervention communities according to the’learning plan defined in the MEAL department ;
  • Update the’tracking tool for’learning ;
  • Support through the sharing tools of’information, the communication of lessons learned in the broad sense of the context of’intervention.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & experience

Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

Bac +3 minimum in a relevant field (statistics, research in development or in social sciences, preferably with special attention for monitoring and’evaluation)

Experience and technical skills :

  • Minimum two (02) years of’relevant experience particularly in national or international NGOs in a similar position ;
  • Experience in statistics applied to the humanities and social sciences, in the humanitarian field is a plus ;
  • Experience in qualitative research techniques ;
  • Training in quantitative methodologies, including database management ;
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of a range of monitoring,’assessment and’assessment methods to promote evidence-based’learning ;
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to design, commission and manage’assessment methodologies and techniques such as group discussions, key informant interviews, observations, and, to name a few ;
  • Excellent command of Office package (excel spreadsheet, Word word processing software, PowerPoint presentation software, etc.), and other data processing and’ analysis software such as SPSS, R, etc.), as well as’a very good mastery of the’use of the platforms Kobo Collect and ODK ;
  • Knowledge of Power BI and mapping software such as QGIS would be an undeniable asset ;
  • Be flexible and able to work under pressure ;
  • Demonstrate a very good editorial, organizational and’initiative capacity ;
  • Love the meticulous work and have the concern for quality.
  • Good oral and written communication skills ;
  • Knowledge of the local languages of the Adamaoua and East regions would be an asset.

  • Mastery of written and spoken French. A mastery of’anglais is an asset.)
  • Knowledge of the local language (Fulfulde, Gbaya, Sango, etc.)
