To support the communications team, the UNICEF office is looking for a U-reporter trainee to support UNICEF communication activities.

To this end, an internship opportunity is offered to students at the end of the cycle or to new graduates in the field of digital communication. This internship is an opportunity for eligible students to gain direct practical experience in UNICEF’s work.

How can you tell the difference?

Under the direct supervision of the communication specialist, the trainee will be responsible for :

  •  Manage / Animate the group whatsapp U-report
  •  Respond to U-Reporters’ messages ;
  •  Actively monitor all incoming messages from U-Reporters, categorize them if necessary and respond to maintain engagement with U-Reporters ;
  •  Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategy for the promotion, recruitment and dissemination of the results of U-Report surveys ;
  •  Contribute to the administration of the various digital platforms and social networks of U-Report ;
  •  Prepare and publish the content ( posts, stories, photos, visuals, surveys ) for social and blog media ( U-Report, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, etc ) ;
  •  Analyze previous surveys to establish basic trends for monitoring changes in future attitudes and behaviors and displaying trends through data analysis using relevant tools.
  •  Develop with the youth survey section
  •  Analyze the polls in progress for publication in press organizations at the national level.
  •  Create and update the response bank for bidirectional communication purposes.
  •  Share regularly in agreement with the Communication section, the activities of U-Report Gabon with U-Report global ;
  •  Any other task given for the proper functioning of the program

NB: The selected trainee (TAG1> e ( will use his hardware and software for the execution of the mission.

To qualify as a champion for each child you have ….

  •  Be of Gabonese nationality and be between 20 – 24 years old ;
  •  Enrolled in university during the internship year or be recently graduated for the past two years;
  •  Have at least 2 years of university education, at the bachelor’s or higher level in social sciences, computer sciences, information and communication sciences or other equivalent diplomas of minimum level Bac + 2
  •  Proven experience in the management of multimedia projects for young people, social media ( as user, manager and / or collaborator ), in particular, Facebook, Instagram, website, etc.
  •  Excellent writing skills in French and / or Arabic, publishing and revision, including excellent posts on the website and social media that can attract adolescents and young people. Knowledge of English would be an asset ;
  •  Have basic knowledge of the use of computer graphics software ;
  •  Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required ;
  •  Ability to work in a multicultural team and to establish harmonious and effective working relationships, inside and outside the organization.
  •  Initiative, passion and commitment to the mission and professional values of UNICEF

Have good academic results, as evidenced by recent university / institution registers.

Not having close relatives ( for example, a father, mother, brother, sister ) working in UNICEF offices ; and not have other parents in the line of authority to which the trainee will report.
