Position Title: Transition and Recovery Project Clerk

Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Satellite Office in Marawi City, and with direct administrative and technical supervision of the Sr. Transition and Recovery Project Assistant, the successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for supporting the field implementation of the transition and recovery projects, especially initiatives that aims to achieve broader and long-term stability and to prevent, mitigate, and reduce the drivers and effects of displacement and forced migration in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and its neighboring areas, more specifically in the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte, in line with IOM policies, standards, and commitments.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Provide clerical assistance on daily project’s field implementation of transition and recovery project activities and interventions.

2. Assist the field operations of projects related to community stabilization and durable solutions in BARMM under the guidance of Sr. Transition and Recovery Project Assistant.

3. Support the project’s assessments, surveys, project monitoring, feedbacking, and validation of key thematic areas needs and challenges to inform appropriateness of interventions of IOM programs in the field.

4. Support the project team on the documentation of success stories and development of information, education, and communications (IECs) materials considering cultural and contextual sensitivities.

5. Assist in the field operationalization of the Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) mechanism and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) strategies for the project.

6. Support the project team on the documentation of best practices, human interest and success stories, and development of community-driven information, education and communications (IEC) materials considering cultural, contextual, and conflict sensitivities.

7. Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree on Community Development, Peace and Development, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum one year of relevant professional experience.
  • High School degree from accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience in community organizing/mobilization, community engagement, social cohesion, and socioeconomic initiatives.
  • Work experience on humanitarian, development and/or peacebuilding nexus projects is an advantage.
  • Work experience and knowledge of BARMM context, post conflict settings, and on Mindanao protection issues is an advantage.

Skills

  • Field implementation skills on peacebuilding, community stabilization, and socioeconomic development in armed conflict affected areas.
  • Good knowledge on data protection and data management.
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity of MS Office application.

Languages

For this position, fluency in English and Filipino is required (oral and written). Working knowledge in BARMM Languages is desirable.
