TECHNICAL POSITION OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS At Save the Children – Spain

Location: Madrid , with field trips or SC field office.

OBJECTIVE: Ensure the development and effective management of the project portfolio in the countries in their charge, who follow donor guidelines throughout the project cycle and acting as a reference person in Spain for the Offices of the countries in their charge.

  • Safeguard grade:
  • Level 1. Requires a verification and update of the Negative Certificate of the Registry of Sex Offenders as well as acceptance and signing of the Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies (triennial).

FUNCTIONS

  1. Develop the processes of identification and formulation of new project proposals in the countries in their charge
  2. Manage the timely preparation and presentation of quality reports to project donors in their countries.
  3. Supervise the optimal monitoring of the execution and justification of the projects in their charge throughout the cycle, in coordination with other areas and directions, effectively managing information in (Award Management System).
  4. Supervise compliance with donor regulations and SC Spain in the projects under their charge.
  5. Manage the establishment of agreements with donors, with country offices and with other international NGOs.
  6. Supervise the monitoring of the context in the countries in their charge, participate in the definition of intervention strategies, support donor relations, providing all relevant and timely information for the operation of the projects.
  7. Represent the interests of Save the Children Spain vis-à-vis the country offices of Save the Children in their charge and other Members of Save the Children.

REQUIRED TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s or university degree. Postgraduate in Humanitarian Action or International Cooperation.
  • Valuable training in: Emergencies, Formulation of humanitarian projects, Disaster Risk Management, Gender, MEAL.
  • Professional use of office tools (Office 365).
  • Essential command of the following languages: Spanish, English and French.

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE

  • Essential experience of at least 3 years in similar positions.
  • Experience in formulation, management and monitoring of projects from headquarters (valuable in the field). Essential experience with projects and programs financed by INTPA (DEVCO), ECHO, EU, and Spanish donors (Including AECID).
