ECEWS is implementing a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded project aimed at Delivering Comprehensive and Sustainable HIV/AIDS Clinical and Community Services to achieve HIV epidemic control in sub-National units of Delta, Osun and Ekiti States in Nigeria under PEPFAR and the Accelerating Control for HIV Epidemic Project (ACE) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Akwa Ibom & Cross River States targeted at achieving epidemic control thereby reducing transmission and improving the quality of life of those living with HIV.

Job Description

  • Under the Senior Technical Advisor – Adult ART & TB/HIV, S/he will provide technical leadership in the delivery of TB, TB-HIV and other integrated medical services like cervical cancer screening at supported sites.
  • Develop or review guidelines, tools and recommendations related to the implementation, evaluation of management and clinical monitoring in the field of TB, contribute to the documentation of lessons learned from interventions related to the management of diseases in the field of TB
  • Provide technical leadership in the implementation of high-quality care and support activities with a primary focus on tuberculosis control and treatment as well as all issues surrounding TBHIV coninfection.
  • Provide strategies and approaches, related to the implementation of collaborative activities at the State level, coordinates the design and implementation of components related to the tuberculosis programs and TBHIV collaborative activities in all project supported states.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • MB.BS / MD / PHD with 3 to 5 years relevant experience with at least 3 years progressive experience at the senior management level working in the health or development field in Nigeria
  • Possession of an MPH or postgraduate degree in a related field is required
  • Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity working with USAID/PEPFAR donor funded projects.
  • Knowledge of health and development programs in developing countries in general and Nigeria specifically Clinical management and training experience and ability to understand the full range of issues around the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including the provision of ART Knowledge of Nigerian clinical setting, including government and non-government settings Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the social, political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infections
  • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants and recipients of assistance
  • Ability to represent ECEWS to donors, government officials and the NGO community
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision
  • High degree of proficiency in written and spoken English communication, including presentation and training skills
  • Proven ability in supervising staff Well-developed computer skills
  • Ability to travel within Nigeria 25% time
