The Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC) is a global movement of Diaspora Organizations working towards a world of unity, peace and advancement. We help unify, support, develop and promote Diaspora Organizations across the world through linking with all groups interested in diaspora communities. We aim to be an influential system leader for global diasporas’ interests and to establish, pioneer, and be the authentic voice of a worldwide sector alliance of Diaspora Organizations. We also empower Diaspora Organizations to continually create sustainable, collaborative and positive impacts for their communities and societies.

This part-time volunteer role is carried out remotely, therefore, we welcome applications from anywhere in the world.
Your Role:
As a Team Continental Ambassador, you’ll be at the forefront of representing GDC on the world stage. Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting Global Change: Be a driving force behind GDC’s mission to make a positive global impact.
- Engaging Across Continents: Connect with stakeholders across diverse continents, fostering valuable relationships.
- Spotting Opportunities: Be the eyes and ears for GDC, identifying growth and development opportunities in the global landscape.
- Expanding Our Reach: Help GDC grow by facilitating the expansion of our membership base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Representation:
- Serve as the official ambassador of GDC in a specific continent or region.
- Promote GDC’s mission and objectives to a diverse audience.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with NGOs, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders in the assigned continent.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to explore partnership opportunities aligned with GDC’s goals.
3*. Opportunity Identification:*
- Act as a scout for potential avenues of growth and development for GDC in the assigned continent.
- Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the development sector.
4. Membership Expansion:
- Facilitate connections between stakeholders and potential GDC members.
- Encourage and support new member recruitment efforts in the assigned continent.
5. Cultural Sensitivity:
- Demonstrate cultural understanding and sensitivity when representing GDC in diverse regions.
- Adapt communication and engagement strategies to respect local norms and values.
6. Communication:
- Effectively communicate GDC’s message and objectives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with GDC’s leadership and other Team C members to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
7. Proactive Attitude:
- Take the initiative to identify opportunities and challenges in the assigned continent.
- Collaborate with GDC’s leadership to develop and implement strategies to address them.
8. Strategic Thinking:
- Think strategically to align actions and initiatives with GDC’s long-term goals and mission.
- Provide input and recommendations to GDC leadership regarding regional strategies and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, development studies, business).
- Strong networking skills and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal proficiency in English (knowledge of additional languages is a plus).
- Cultural sensitivity and a demonstrated ability to adapt to different cultural contexts.
- Proactive attitude and a track record of taking initiative to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align actions with organizational goals.
- Availability for international travel as needed.
