Supply Chain Coordinator At BEYAZ ELLER YARDIMLAŞMA DERNEĞİ


This role will lead and manage the setup and expansion of logistics functions and responsibilities for Beyaz Eller and will manage supply chain staff.

The role will receive support from the CEO of Beyaz Eller and department managers to achieve the best use of Beyaz Eller resources.

The role will include logistics support for large programs.

It will involve remote management, management of multiple field bases, or direct management of projects and staff.

The post-holder will learn lessons from each assignment to help improve future practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of all Organization logistics; develop/implement the country Procurement and logistic policies and procedures for the management of the supply chain, including procurement, transport and distribution, warehousing and stock management, and for the management of vehicle fleets, communication systems, and assets.
  • Ensure that Beyaz Eller minimum standards of procurement and logistics procedures and policies are implemented and adhered to throughout the organization, briefing and supporting relevant staff as required.
  • Manage and support procurement and logistics staff including ensuring appropriate team structures, clear division of responsibilities, clear objectives, and management of performance.
  • Ensure that the supply chain is appropriate and cost-effective, based on budget, markets, infrastructure, nature of the Beyaz Eller programs, and need for timely delivery.
  • Provide advice and support to senior management on procurement and logistics issues, and collaborate with staff on budgets, technical aspects of the program, and implementation mechanisms as required.
  • Where appropriate, be responsible for developing and implementing emergency preparedness strategies across the logistics aspects of the operation.
  • Provide logistics training and capacity building as required across the Beyaz Eller Turkey program.
  • Ensure efficient and transparent use of resources by internal controls.

  • Follow up his/her team according to the HR policy missions’ Standards (daily management, performance evaluation, leaves management, etc.);
  • Ensure performance evaluation of his / her team, and set up and follow up individual or team objectives
  • Train his/her team and be proactive regarding internal or external training opportunities;
  • Ensure a good communication, coordination, and information level of each member of the team through regular coordination meetings (or other if needed)
  • Ensure an efficient coordination with the other departments
  • Participate in the hiring process for MEAL; as needed

Any other duties that may be assigned by the line manager

Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are key ones, there might be other duties to be appointed by the direct manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or any other close field of specialization.
  • Substantial experience in all technical areas of logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, and asset management.
  • Experience in developing/implementing a complex supply chain to support different types of programs, and coordinating resources to meet the program objectives.
  • Experience working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in managing and supervising others in logistics, including training and capacity building.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze complex information, and make clear, informed decisions.
  • Experience in advising and supporting others at all levels with the logistics aspects of a programmer, including strategic thinking and planning.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.Demonstrated at least 5 years of related experience, 3 of which at senior management position.
  • Significant prior NGO experience in logistics management, within a complex/large-scale country program and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, required
