Solthis is a global health NGO, created 20 years ago, that acts for prevention and access to quality care for all, everyone, strengthening health systems and services in a sustainable manner. We intervene on the health issues of women, mothers and children, and on major pandemics, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis. Solthis is a development NGO, present in West Africa with 6 country offices and which, in partnership with national partners, deploys projects that include a combination of operational research, capacity building, and advocacy components.

STAKES

Solthis has been working in Guinea since 2008 on health issues, including, more specifically around innovative approaches in the early diagnosis and management of HIV in the mother and newborn, and, sexual and reproductive rights and emerging infections.

Solthis operates through an office based in Conakry with the possibility of’extension in the region according to the 2024 development plan and the coming years.

Two new projects will be implemented in early 2024, including the SUCCESS II project on screening and management of precancerous lesions of the cervix’.

The project aims to strengthen the screening and early treatment of cervical cancer’ uterus in Guinea. It will target structures already involved in screening to support them in proposing an initial screening by PCR-HPV (currently non-existent in Guinea).

The project targets women aged 25 to 49, with a focus on those living with HIV (HIVF) who will be the main beneficiaries of the project (about 65 % women screened). Specific pilot activities will be proposed to include women sex workers (SDs) and co-build interventions with them that meet their screening needs and constraints.

To achieve the objectives of the project, Solthis will work in close collaboration with the National Cancer Control Program ( PNLCC ), the National HIV/AIDS and hepatitis ( PNLSH ), health facilities in Conakry, the Regional Hospital in Kindia and certain civil society organizations.

SPECIFIC MISSIONS

The SUCCES II Project Coordinator works under the direct coordination of the Program Coordinator.

As responsible for the overall management of the project, it · it ensures the implementation of activities and the achievement of the objectives set contractually with the lessor as well as the management of his team, representation with partners, administrative and financial monitoring and contributes to the development and assembly of new projects in particular.

Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the project

• Implementation of activities according to Solthis quality standards, achievement of objectives and compliance with commitments to the lessor
• Internal and external reporting
• Guarantees the development and implementation of the S&E plan
• Relations with donors and partners
• Capitalization / Communication on the project

Ensures administrative and financial monitoring

• Pilot the budget relating to the project in collaboration with the Admin-Fi manager (s) ( RAF ).
• Provides the RAF (s) with any information impacting the project budget during monthly budget monitoring meetings.

Guarantees compliance with safety rules

• Ensure compliance with safety rules, especially when traveling within the country.
• Inform the· Country Director of any political/social/humanitarian’ element that may impact the security management of the mission.

Contributes to Project Development

• Contributes to the development and search for financing of’a possible phase 2 of the project or complementary projects.
• Contributes to the development of new projects within its’expertise scope.

Framing and Managing

• Develops the team dynamics, sets up of’a healthy working environment respectful of Solthis values and in line with HR principles
• Set annual targets and achieve individual regular points
• Supports its N-1 in strengthening their project management skills
• Recruits and supervises his team (1 medical officer and 1 community officer).

PROFILE SOUGHT

Initial training

Hold a higher level diploma (master) in project management, social sciences, public health, health promotion or any other equivalent degree

Experiences

• Experience of’at least 5 years on a similar position
• Experience in the field of’introduction of innovative approaches in health in relation to international recommendations
• Experience working with various institutional partners including Ministry of Health programmes and civil society organisations working in the field of HIV and Health sexual and reproductive

Qualities & Skills

• You master the cycle and the different stages of project management as well as the management of institutional financing and budget management, and,
• You are autonomous and force of proposal to create a team dynamics’
• You are committed to a transmission of quality knowledge
• Your analytical, editorial and synthesis capacities are such that you are comfortable with producing reports and writing projects.

Salary

Depending on the national or expatriate contract, experience on a similar position and the SOLTHIS internal remuneration grids.
