The social worker (SIAU) will be in charge, among others, of the following functions:
- Guide individuals and their families on the routes of care of the health system, favoring access to social protection systems safely, reducing barriers in individuals or communities for the enjoyment of the services guaranteed by the state to MRPZ, in the territory in which Americares carries out operations.
- Manage support and orientation mechanisms in a systematic individual, family or group way, with respect to social problems that may affect the health-disease process with the aim of achieving treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance of the health of the MRPA population.
- Provide information on the disease, and guidelines to follow to face the external management of the problem,
- Guide and train the population on the use of institutional and community resources that can contribute to individuals achieving a better quality of life.
- Guide and strengthen the ties that allow the family unit and train its members to ensure health.
- Promote and monitor through orientation, regularization and insurance days for migrant individuals and families who meet the conditions to be affiliated with the SGSSS to date in the national territory.
- Promote the analysis of the situation by communities, in areas of settlement of the migrant population, for the incorporation of interventions that favor the corresponding approach and channeling, according to the guidelines of the local or national level.
- Collaborate in the training of volunteers and auxiliaries to carry out health actions.
- Develop collaborative treatment plans for the user and the interdisciplinary team to solve the problems or deficiencies of the individual or the family
- Develop a monitoring and registration matrix for identification, orientation, counseling processes in defined populations ( migrants, returned nationals, refugees and their families, as well as ethnic groups, among others ) on the processes of regularization, affiliation or insurance, registrations and management of barriers for access to health services and social integration.
- Strengthen referral and counter-reference processes for health care for migrants ( especially cases of people in an irregular situation ), at the local or departmental level.
- Support in strengthening human capacities in team professionals, to adequately manage the care of the migrant population and promote social coexistence.
- Articulation of complementary services with other cooperation agencies present in the territory, for comprehensive care for beneficiaries.
CALIFICATIONS:
- Professional in social work, with proven and proven experience in office, for three years.
- Work experience with NGOs working on projects related to the public health sector and community health programs.
- Experience and knowledge of the National Health System, with knowledge in the Administrative area, and Internal and External Customer Service.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years of experience related to community work
- Two to three years of progressive operational experience based on monitoring migrants, refugees, returnees and the host population in the orientation process, counseling, regularization and affiliation to the current Colombian health system.

- Have the qualities of emotional intelligence, organization, communication, active listening, critical thinking, setting limits, advocacy and professionalism.
- Teamwork capacity, as well as independently, based on results.,
- Organization, Assertive Communication, Orientation to the result and achievement.
- Indispensable skills in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel) and Outlook. Experience with SharePoint and tableau – desirable.
- Skills for writing, analyzing, typing and systematizing information.
