DESCRIPTION OF L’ASSOCIATION

The’Espoir Chain is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its purpose is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and in particular children, the same opportunities for survival and development. We operate in 28 countries through a global approach, focusing on the’child but also on disadvantaged mothers and communities.

  • Prevention and screening from an early age, especially in the context of health programs at’school.
  • Care and surgery to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and transfer of skills to local teams through our international network of’experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

POST AND MISSIONS

Within the Directorate of Operations and in functional relationship with the Medical Directorate, the Health Referent plays a key role in the definition of, the implementation and supervision of the programs of La Chaine de l’Espoir.

Country and Headquarters Health Strategy

  • Technical support to field teams in the preparation and follow-up of exploratory missions
  • Collaboration with field teams for the development of operational strategies and the assembly of projects, in line with the global strategy of the’association
  • Identification and analysis of the medical needs of intervention countries in close collaboration with the medical directorate

Technical support for Projects

  • Provision of technical support to program teams to guarantee the quality of medical programs
  • Strategic support for field teams throughout the project cycle, including regular, exploration and emergency missions
  • Supervision of preparations and validations of medical controls, ensuring their relevance and consistency

Monitoring and Quality of Projects

  • Issuance of recommendations to ensure the quality of projects during regular remote monitoring and field visits
  • Participation in the definition and development of quality policy, with an update of the reference frameworks
  • Contribution to the capitalization of medical activities, including the writing of reports and the review of donor reports

Capacity Building

  • Depending on the needs, development and facilitation of internal training or with our operational partners.
  • Remote support of the coordination of health programs in the management of their activities.
  • Contribution to the development of medical and paramedical staff job cards and conduct of technical professional appraisal interviews for health coordinators, in conjunction with the Medical Directorate.
  • Participate in the recruitment process of medical coordination positions and health program manager positions, carry out their briefings and debriefings

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Training : medical or paramedical training, diploma of Public Health
  • Experience : 3 Years of’ experience in the international solidarity sector (ground/headquarters)

COMPETENCES AND ABILITIES

  • English current essential
  • Excellent writing skills in French and English
  • Sense of the relationship, spirit of’team
  • Force of proposal, sense of’initiative, autonomy
  • Meaning of’organisation, rigour, spirit of’analysis, respect of deadlines
  • Adherence to the ethical principles of’association

CONDITIONS

  • CDI, framework status
  • Full-time position, based at the Headquarters of the’association in Paris (75015) with trips abroad
  • Start date : march 2024
  • 80% mutual support%
  • Tickets Meals from’a value of 10.83 euros supported at 60%
  • Refund transport subscription up to 50% (or sustainable mobility package)
  • 23 Days of annual RTT
  • Teleworking charter : 3d/week
  • Proposed salary: 39k – 43k according to profile and experience
