CONTEXT :

The post is part of the’emergency response to the earthquake that occurred in September 2023. In partnership with two Moroccan associations (the RBC network and the’association Migration and Development), HI intervenes through caravans, or multidisciplinary mobile teams (kinesitherapists, occupational therapists, etc, MHPSS) composed of professionals volunteers or contracted by HI. The caravans are housed for a few days in the local health services.

The areas of’interventions that do not benefit from rehabilitation services are distant from each other :

  1. Marrakech Safi Region (‘EL Haouz Province, Chichaoua Province)
  2. Souss Massa Region (Taroudant Province)

At J+6 months, earthquake-related injuries gradually give way to fragile conditions and chronic pathologies, affecting people living in a context away from rehabilitation services.

YOUR MISSION :

The/the Technical Officer Rehabilitation shall :

  1. S’ ensure the framing and quality of interventions carried out by Moroccan physiotherapists/occupational therapists (function-oriented care, access to technical aids, reasonable home planning) ;
  2. Conduct a joint reflection with associations and institutional partners of’ identification of adapted and evolving strategies to ensure continuity of care for populations remote from rehabilitation services.

The current strategy (2023-2025) of the HI program in Morocco is focused on interventions related to the chronic migration crisis, including, and development interventions (technical support and capacity building of institutional and/or associative’actors). To date, only the earthquake response includes rehabilitation.

YOUR PROFILE :

  • You have a diploma in rehabilitation (occupational therapist, physiotherapist) ;
  • You have clinical experience in the multidisciplinary care of patients with chronic pathologies, and in a’ situation geographical isolation ;
  • You master the international frameworks and standards related to rehabilitation ;
  • You have experience in the implementation of’a project with an NGO in a context of’urgency and development ;
  • You have experience in technical support/coaching of professionals;
  • You have strong teamwork skills, understanding of cultural issues linked to the context, communication and relational skills;
  • You master French;
  • Mastery of Arabic and/or Amazigh would be a plus.

SPECIFICITIES/PARTICULARITIES OF THE POSITION:

Regular travel will be required in the Marrakech and Souss-Massa regions.

  • International contract for 8 months starting ideally from 04/15/2024
  • The international contract allows social coverage adapted to the needs of each person
    • Unemployment insurance levied only for EU nationals
    • Retirement insurance
    • Health coverage, repatriation, welfare covered by HI and the employee
  • Salary : from €2,346 gross/month depending on professional experience
  • Per diem : €550.83 net/month – paid in local currency on site
  • Paid leave : 25 days per year;
  • R&R : 1 day per month

    • not accompanied
    • open to couples
      • Support for the’ accompanied by visa and travel expenses, insurance if not covered
  • Accommodation : Individual supported by HI
