Mission and objectives
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in nearly 170 countries and territories, including the Republic of Moldova, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience to sustain development results. UNDP in Moldova is guided by its Country Programme Document, and the UN-Moldova Development Assistance for 2018-2022, which is in line with the priorities of the Government of Moldova. In a rapidly changing global environment, the work of UNDP and the broader UN family aligns with the new national development vision, Moldova 2030, and sector strategies. UNDP Moldova’s country programme for 2018–2022 has three major focus areas: Inclusive growth, Effective governance, Climate change, environment and energy and three cross-cutting areas: Gender equality, Crisis response, Development impact
Context
With funding from the Government of Japan, UNDP has launched two new projects in 2023 with a focus on Human Security. They are: 1. Multidimensional response to emerging human security challenges in Moldova 2. Promotion of Human Security of Ukrainian refugees, third-country nationals, and the host communities in Moldova through Socio-Economic Empowerment and Inclusion For effective brand management of the two projects, we will create a series of promotional products to be used across a range of communications contexts and purposes.
Task description
We are looking for one Online Volunteer who, under the guidance of the UNDP Moldova Communication team, will support us in producing two roll-up banners – one for each project. The design/layout should follow UNDP’s corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance. Both banners should use the same design style. The themes for the design are peace and security. We’re looking for simple, colorful designs using symbols and shapes that reflect these themes.
Requirements
Required experience
Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing flyers/ posters/roll-ups and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset. A previous work experience with the UN is desirable.
