In Save The Children Spain. We are looking for a @ Head of Humanitarian Action and Emergencies who leads the application of the most appropriate strategy taking into account that the different factors are in line with the standards required before a emergency situation and that the sources of verification and supporting documents for accountability are guaranteed at all times.
FUNCTIONS 1. Actively guarantee the construction of relationships within the Save the Children movement and in relation to other relevant agents, ensuring the interests of Save the Children Spain, in order to improve the impact of the organization and guarantee its position as a key actor.
2. Define Save the Children Spain’s humanitarian priorities, ensuring alignment with global humanitarian efforts, identifying and providing analysis of humanitarian trends and ways of working, and contributing to program advocacy priorities. Lead the analysis of humanitarian financing opportunities.
3. Advise, supervise and collaborate with financing opportunities in humanitarian contexts, including the design, implementation and management of SCE humanitarian projects and programs, in coordination with other areas and/or directions, ensuring alignment with international humanitarian standards and donor priorities.
4. Guarantee backstopping (technical and strategic support) to Humanitarian response programs implemented directly by Save the Children Spain, supervising and supporting key processes (risk analysis, development of emergency preparedness plans, humanitarian planning, security, etc.).
5. Prepare, coordinate and manage Save the Children Spain’s financial and human resources contributions to the emergency response of the Save the Children movement, ensure the monitoring of specific crises and guarantee the flow of information between departments and directorates.
6. Represent the organization and participate in national and international networks, platforms and working groups, helping to ensure humanitarian knowledge and focus aligned with commitments, trends in the sector and innovation globally. 7.
