First aid, including resuscitation, is a vital action to effectively and quickly treat trauma and illness to improve a person’s chances of survival. Every year, millions of people die or suffer complications from injury due to lack of timely assistance or adequate first aid. At the basis of the CRCR Movement, first aid and resuscitation are acts of humanity, emphasizing the desire to save lives without discrimination. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is, along with National Societies, the leading trainer and provider of first aid and resuscitation services worldwide.
At the IFRC General Assembly in 2011, several National Societies called on the IFRC to scale up and harmonize its support for first aid. This led to the creation of the IFRC Global First Aid Reference Center (CMRPS) in 2012, hosted and supported by the French Red Cross (CRF). To achieve its overall objective, and subject to the availability of funds, the IFRC CMRPS works and provides services as part of the IFRC Global Health and Care Team, under the direction and leadership joint members of the IFRC Secretariat and the French Red Cross.
Manage the activities of the IFRC World Reference Center for First Aid (CMRPS), coordinate the implementation of its missions and ensure its operational, partnership and financial development. Ensure medical reference, in line with the scientific reality of the CMRPS and represent the French Red Cross and the IFRC in all circles where its presence is required or desirable. The director reports administratively and functionally to the director of international operations of the French Red Cross and technically to the director of the health and care department of the IFRC in Geneva.

Your mission will be to
– Manage the administration, finances and human resources of the CMRPS
And in particular administrative and financial management, the preparation of annual budgets, the monitoring of financing agreements.
Recruitment, training, GPEC
Overall team leadership and information sharing
-Supervise the administrative and financial management of the CMRPS
-Develop annual budgets and ensure budgetary management and monitoring of actions,
– Management and monitoring of financing agreements
-Implement the human resources policy within the department in terms of recruitment, career management, development and training
– Manage, lead and develop the operational activity of the global first aid reference center
Supervise the implementation of CMRPS projects and activities
Coordinate and participate in the development of first aid tools
Develop project proposals to submit to financial partners
Directly manage technical projects such as the implementation of international first aid, resuscitation and education guidelines
Support capacity building of CMRPS teams in planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects.
Ensure regular communication with the IFRC
With the development of project proposals, and their monitoring
Direct management of technical projects such as the implementation of international guidelines in first aid, resuscitation and education.
Compliance with the annual objectives of the CMRPS and reporting to the center’s steering committee
Compliance with procedures and feedback to the IFRC level
– Follow the strategy of the French Red Cross and the IFRC in the field of first aid
-Implement the decisions of the steering committee and ensure that the center achieves the goals and objectives it has set.
-Contribute to the development and operationalization of the CMRPS strategy in accordance with the 2030 commitments and the international strategy of the IFRC, the cooperation agreement between the IFRC and the French Red Cross (2012), the framework Health & Care 2030 Strategy and the IFRC 2030 First Aid Policy and Vision.
-Participate in monitoring the strategic working groups of the French Red Cross and the IFRC in the field of first aid.
-Participate in ad hoc strategic meetings within the French Red Cross and the IFRC.
-Prepare and facilitate steering committee meetings and attend these meetings,
-He will work closely with the contact person in the health and care department of the International Federation in Geneva to ensure, in addition to the steering committee, close daily integration of the center within the global health team of the IFRC and any other relevant work and initiatives of the secretariat.

– Guarantee the scientific quality of CMRPS activities.
Support collaborators and national societies in their medical and scientific contribution
Participate in scientific and technical groups within and outside the association
Represent the reference center at national and international events and conferences
Represent the IFRC in scientific and technical groups within and outside the association, as well as at national and international conferences and events related to the center’s activities.
Carry out international missions related to the center’s activities.
Support the various international and national centers in their scientific and medical contributions
Medical doctor, experienced nurse or experienced first aid trainer
you have strong emergency experience and skills in education and training
You have expertise in strategic and operational planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems, as well as strong reporting skills.
You have at least 10 years as an international project and program manager and are comfortable with the procedures of major international donors and supporting the capacity development of organizations, ideally national Red Cross societies and of the Red Crescent
You are fluent in French and English
Spanish and Arabic are a plus
