Research Associate for FEWS NET Strategic Planning and Activity Design (SPADe) Support Project – US based remote At Tetra Tech


The USAID-funded Famine Early Warning Systems (FEWS NET) Strategic Planning and Activity Design (SPADe) Support project, a global activity implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (International Development Jobs – Tetra Tech) is currently accepting expressions of interest for the Research Associate. This position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Burlington, VT, or Arlington, VA.

The Research Associate will support the project’s research activities under the direction of the Research Advisor. He/she/they will lead or contribute to literature reviews; assessment design and methodology; data collection, processing, cleaning, and analysis; interpretation of third party analysis, technical report writing, other tasks to complete Work Assignments (e.g., Country/Context Desk Reviews, Secondary Data Analyses, Market Analyses, Stakeholder Mapping and Analyses, and Scenario Planning). This is a full-time position, through April 7, 2026.

Responsibilities:

* Assessing the information management needs and opportunities for project stakeholders;

* Identifying appropriate operational policies, actions, and approaches to strengthen the information management systems of project stakeholders;

* Assisting project stakeholders to develop and carry out information management plans, communication, and outreach programs;

* Identifying appropriate communication activities and programs to promote efficient and effective knowledge management best practices.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
* Master’s degree in a related subject matter area;

* Five years of progressively responsible international work experience;

* Advanced skills in information management, learning methods, knowledge-sharing systems, and communications strategies to promote project learning;

* Demonstrated experience supporting the implementation of complex activities in multiple countries;

* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic is preferred;

* Current U.S. work authorization is required at the time of application.
