WHAT WE DO …

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY (SI) is an association of’international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been
assistance to populations affected by armed conflict and natural disasters by meeting vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Attached(e) to the Middle East Desk (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen), the/referent(e) desk has the following role :

  • He/she is the/the guarantor of the implementation of the Programmatic Strategy at the level of the desk and the countries of intervention’
  • He/she supports the Regional Director/Rice in the definition of the strategy of the countries of’intervention.
  • He/she participates in the definition and the respect of the Strategic Programmes of the countries of the Desk
  • He/she is in charge of monitoring the proper implementation, and, the relevance and quality of the projects developed on the missions, depending on humanitarian needs and within the framework of annual programming.

It’ is a position requiring a real strength of strategic proposal at the desk, and strong capacities of support to missions for the definition and implementation of projects. The/The candidate will be able to demonstrate’ a strong pragmatism combined with an innovative programmatic vision.

Main activities of the post :

  • Strategy & Programming : Participates in the development of the strategies of the countries of intervention followed by the Desk, annual programming and participates in their follow-up ; Ensures the coherence and sustainability of the programmes carried out in accordance with the’association strategy and the programming of each’ intervention country ;
  • Quality and Operational Relevance : Validates the operational strategy of projects in development; S’ ensures that any project respects the current project cycle ; Suitable for checkpoints with Deputy Country Directors (ADPs) to Program Programs/Coordinators, and performs follow-up ; S’assures the implementation of the standard indicators defined with the technical referents and S’assures their monitoring ; Ensures the follow-up of the monthly reports of’activity and communication with the country on the basis of this document ; S’assures the planning and the good budgetary course of the activities, and consistency with budget monitoring with regard to programme budget lines, in collaboration with the Desk’s management officer ; Participates in the’ identification of potential implementation partnerships
  • Creation of’expertise :Participate in sizing and planning HR needs programs in collaboration with the RG and the Countries ; Validates the technical position profiles and the ( RIS ) information sheets in coordination with the country team; Participate in the recruitment of Managers, Coordinators and DPA ( and technical program in collaboration with DOAP ) referents, notably through a validation interview and / or correction of technical tests ; Identifies the improvement points linked to the programs in the country teams, and proposes a capacity building plan, in conjunction with the expatriate and national HR department ; Ensure the training of national program teams in project cycle management in collaboration with the coordination Country program; Identifies relevant lessons learned on each country,capitalizes and shares them with the other Program Desk Referents, in connection with the DOAP and the’apprenticeship officer, for transfer of experience between countries ;
  • Representation /External coordination : Maintains exchanges with its peers from other NGOs; Develops operational partnerships with other humanitarian actors in support of the Pays du Desk ; Participates in multi and bilateral meetings with donors

Land displacement : 3 To 4 missions/year, duration from 15 to 20 days.

YOUR PROFILE

Training and experience :

  • 5 Years minimum on program coordination functions or field coordinator
  • Previous experience in program management in headquarters appreciated.
  • Significant experience in partnership development or consortium project management.
  • Training/Experience in economic & social sciences specialty food/nutrition, agronomy or equivalent highly appreciated.
  • English and French, read, spoken and written
  • Having worked on one or more Middle East contexts is a plus

Skills and qualifications required :

Your field experience in coordination functions has necessarily brought you skills in project management and definition of operational strategies. You also have a great ability to operationalize a strategy, conceptualize and plan programs and synthesize and disseminate’ information.

More classically, your practice of’anglais is perfectly fluid and you are also perfectly at’aise with the Pack Office.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Position based at the headquarters of Solidarity International, in Clichy la Garenne (Mairie de Clichy Metro) with field trips
  • CDD contract 12 months from 11 March 2024 – Framework status
  • Monthly gross remuneration of : 3183 € or 3316 € depending on the grid in force at headquarters
  • Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of Teleworking per month or 100% of teleworking with 3 days of mandatory face-to-face per month. In accordance with the Telework Charter in force and the manager.
  • Leave : 2.0833 CP /month and 1 day RTT / full month of work
  • Days of recovery and medical coverage taken care of 100% during the field trips
