ActionAid is a global federation working for a world free from poverty and injustice. We want to see a just, equitable and sustainable world in which everyone enjoys the right to a dignified life free from poverty and oppression. We are therefore working to achieve social justice and gender equality, and to eradicate poverty. Our strategy is to create an international dynamic for social, economic and environmental justice, driven by people living in poverty and exclusion, specifically women and youth. In practical terms, this means working closely with people living in poverty and exclusion, civil society organisations, social movements and supporters. Together,we deliver local programs, provide emergency relief and campaign for causes such as women’s economic rights, tax justice and climate justice.

Context :

ActionAid International in Mali currently has an ongoing project focused on mobilizing youth for the promotion of human rights,’ access to justice including climate justice, social cohesion and the recovery of displaced persons and their communities. This project is implemented by 1’organization of Malian civil society whose actions will be mainly driven by youth. It is within this framework that’ActionAid International in Mali recruits : one(e) Project Officer(e) for the implementation of the aforementioned project.

Area of responsibility:

Provide technical and thematic support to project implementation partners that are Malian civil society organizations with a particular focus on youth. Collaborate closely with the project implementation partners as well as the project steering committee for the proper implementation of the activities according to the programmatic standards and standards of the lessor and specifics of the project. Ensure the monitoring and quality assurance of the project through monitoring missions, capitalization sessions and other’learning methods. Assist in identifying and reporting critical gaps found in the implementation of project activities. Assist in the monitoring and quality control of activities and ensure the timely implementation of improvement activities.Ensure coordination between the different stakeholders of the project, that is to say, the implementing partners, the steering committee, the supervisory institutions…. Organize and coordinate reporting periods with implementation partners as well as other stakeholders. Consolidate and share project progress and completion reports, including photo documentation (before and after) to the project management team, and, indicating the actions of support the reports with the steering committee for feedback and dissemination. Support partner capacity building processes. Participate in the activities and meetings of the various sectoral groups (clusters and other synergy groups) relevant to the project and related themes.Ensures the implementation of logistical, administrative and technical arrangements for monitoring,’audit and other consultations of third parties and the steering committee within the framework of the project. Support the partners and the steering committee in the respect and implementation of ethical standards, and, respect for human rights and the principle of « Do not harm » during the implementation of the project. Objectives for this position:

Contribute to the’ achievement of the strategic and specific objectives of the SPAII in Mali. Assist youth organisations as well as the implementing partner in the’technical implementation of the project. Cultivate and maintain a wide range of contacts with government, the private sector and voluntary institutions, as well as with other multilateral and bilateral donors, to explain and defend AADK’s priorities for youth. Maintain and coordinate the communication as well as the relations with the’ set of the stakeholders. Ensure the’ accomplishment of all milestones or important stages of the project in particular through the deliverables. Ensure strict compliance with the programmatic and organizational standards and standards of federation AA and the humanitarian sector in general.

Experiences and qualifications:

Level Bachelor or Master (Minimum Bac +3) in social sciences or equivalent

At least 3 years of experience in a similar position or in a young project in a local or international NGO

Have experience working on a youth project

Knowledge of the themes related to Climate Justice, social movements, human rights and humanitarian principles

Good knowledge of computer and digital tools : Microsoft Office, Kobo, Epicollect

Good command of administrative and financial management principles

High editorial capacity and good mastery of protocol rules

Working languages:

English & French
