Project Manager | Colombia At CESVI – Cooperation and Development Onlus


WORK CONTEXT

Cesvi has been working in Colombia since 2019, based in Santa Marta. Cesvi’s strategy in Colombia is divided into humanitarian interventions in response to the needs of the Venezuelan emigrant population and host communities. Cesvi’s intervention specialized in 2021 not only in the sector of the protection of migrants, but also in that of the promotion of employment and entrepreneurship of migrants and host communities, with particular attention to the promotion of community initiatives for the prevention of violence and promote peaceful coexistence.

In this context, Cesvi launched a project funded by AICS in July 2022 aimed at guaranteeing the socioeconomic inclusion of Venezuelan migrant and refugee women; the project promotes employability, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, formalization of work and decent work through 3 main components:

1) Improvement of local services that allow access to training;

2) Strengthening access to employment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion tools;

3) Accompaniment in the application of public policies that facilitate socio-economic inclusion, through public-private partnerships to combine job supply and demand

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager has the function of representing the project towards AICS , local authorities, and other stakeholders, is responsible for the management of the entire project, coordination with the partners, monitors and supervises the implementation of the activities and ensures complete reporting of the performed activities.

The collaboration will begin on May 1st.

The Project Manager will be based in Santa Marta (Colombia) , with frequent visits to the Barranquilla area .

Main responsibilities and tasks:

– Monitoring project activities and identifying necessary changes

– Coordination with project partners;

– Ensure correct archiving of project documentation;

– Financial management of the purchasing procedures relating to the assigned projects, in collaboration with the local administrator and under the supervision of the Area Administrative Coordinators in HQ and the Regional Administrator for the correct allocation of costs;

– Management of relationships with project donors;

– Drafting of reports and sending of documentation to the donor (via the HQ) ensuring the achievement of the results envisaged in the project document for the related period;

– Management of the relationship with the project stakeholders;

– Efficient management of the office, objects and tools;

– Selection, management and coordination of project human resources

– Drafting of context and needs analyzes and development of project proposals to expand Cesvi’s presence in the area.

Essential requirements

– Second level specialist degree and/or Master in Cooperation and Development and/or similar degree

– Minimum 2 years of experience in the NGO sector in the management and implementation of projects financed by institutional donors, in particular in the livelihood/local entrepreneurial capacity building sector

– Previous experience in managing development projects financed by Institutional Donors, especially AICS (administrative and financial planning)

– Good reporting skills, analysis of indicators and project objectives

– In-depth knowledge of all phases of project cycle management

– Excellent knowledge of the Italian language (written and spoken). The project donor operates in Italian

– Excellent knowledge of the Spanish language (written and spoken)

– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

– Self-motivated, able to take initiative, resilient and able to work independently

– Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work in a team

Desirable requirements

– Previous experience in managing projects in migration contexts, aimed at the socio-economic integration of migrants

– Previous work experience in Colombia and/or other Latin American countries

– Previous experience in managing development projects in collaboration with local NGOs and in strengthening the capacities of local authorities.

Therefore, in order to protect its staff, an assessment of their suitability for the position in each mission is carried out before departure. Such assessment is done by the Occupational Doctor of the Organisation, who will also examine the vaccination coverage.
